User’s Guide Brother Laser Printer HL-L9200CDWT HL-L9300CDWTT For visually-impaired users You can read this manual with Scre en Reader ‘text-to-speech’ software. You must set up the hardware and install the dr iver before you can use the ma chine.
For HL-L9300CDWTT users The following section describes t he differen ces between the HL-L9300CDWTT and the HL-L9200CDWT. The HL-L9300CDWTT has two lower trays (Tray 2 and Tray 3) as standard; each lower tray can h old up to 500 sheets of 80 g/m 2 paper.
Optional lower tray 1 LT-328CL is functionally equivalent to LT-3 25CL. Printing Methods 2 1 Acceptable paper and other print media 1 Print quality may vary according to the type of paper you are using. You can use the following types of print media: plain paper, thin paper, thick paper, thicker paper, bond paper, recycled paper, labels, envelo pes or glossy pap er (see Print media on page 208).

Recommended paper specifications 1 The following paper specifications are appropriate for this machine: Use plain paper that is appropriate for laser machine s to make copies.
Printing Methods 4 1 Handling and using special paper 1 The machine is designed to work well with most types of xerographic and bond paper. However, some paper variables may have an effect on print quality or hand ling reliability. Always test samples o f paper before purchasing to ensure desirable performance.
Printing Methods 5 1 Envelopes 1 Most envelopes can be used with your machine. Ho wever, some envelopes may h ave feed and print-quality problems because of the way they have been made. Envelopes should have edges with straight, well-creased folds. Envelopes should lie flat a nd not be of baggy or flimsy c onstruction.
Printing Methods 6 1 • with sealing flaps th at are not folded down when purchased • with each side folded as shown in the figure below If you use any of the types of envelopes list ed above, they may damage you r machine. Printing Methods 9 1 b While pressing the blue paper-guide release levers (1), slide the paper guides to fit the size of paper you are loading in the tray. Make sure that the guides are firmly in the slots. c Fan the stack of paper well to avoid paper jams and misfeeds.
Printing Methods 10 1 d Load paper in the tray and make sure : The paper is below the maximum paper mark ( ) (1). Over filling the paper tray will cause paper jams. The side to be printed on is face down. The paper guides touch the sides of the pa per so it will feed correctly.

Use this paper feed and output meth od when you print on thick paper, labels, or envelopes.

Driver and Softwa re 30 2 Printing a document 2 When the machine receives data from your computer , it begins printing by picking up paper from the pape r tray, multi-purpose tray or optional lower tray. Th e multi-purpose tray can feed many types of paper and envelopes (see Paper Tray Capacity o n page 3).
