Set ti ng Up th e Machi ne 4 STE P 1 1 1 Removing the pr otective part s 1 Remove t he protective tape a nd film covering the scanner glass. 2 Remove the foam bag containing t he ink cartridges from on top of t he paper tray. Im prop er Set up D O NOT connect th e interfa ce cable.
Setti ng Up the Ma chin e 5 3 Fan the stack of paper well to avoid pape r j a ms and misfeeds. 4 Gently put the paper into the paper tray print side down and top edge first.
Set ti ng Up th e Machi ne 6 STE P 1 8 While holding the paper tray in place, pu ll out the paper support ( ) unt il it cli cks, and unfo ld the paper support flap ( ).
Setti ng Up the Ma chin e 7 Note When you put the paper into the paper tray, s lide the paper in m aking sure that it to uches the pap er length guide (1) first , t he n ge ntly lower the other end of t h e paper. 6 Gently adjust the paper side guides with both hands to fit t h e paper.

Note If t he protective yellow cap comes off when you open the bag, the cartridge will not be dam aged.

If you do so, it m ay reduce the i nk quant it y and the machine will not know the quant ity of in k left in the c a rtridge.
