g B T Diverse Helpline – 08457 908 070 11 SETTING UP Plan the location Situate your product close enough to a mains power socket so that the cable will reach. Make sure it is at least 1 metre away from other electrical products to avoid inter ference.

Preparatory dialling Dial the number first. If you make a mistake, press the C display button to remove any incor rect digits.

T o switch to handsfree during a call Y ou can switch to handsfr ee at any time during a call.

Or Press the handset number you want to call on the keypad. Or Select Call All to ring all the handsets registered to the base and press the GREEN PHONE button.

Entering names: Enter the name using the letters on the keypad. For example, to enter the name TOM: Press the 8 button, T appears on the display .

T o set the date and time If you have subscribed to a Caller Display ser vice your BT Diverse 5400 will automatically set the cor r ect date and time when you receive your first call.
g B T Diverse Helpline – 08457 908 070 44 HANDSET SETTINGS T o switch the alarm off When the alar m goes of f, it will ring for 30 seconds. Press the SILENCE display button to switch the alar m of f. SILENCE Note The alarm clock will ring only if the handset is in idle mode.

Y ou can press this display button to open the list of appointments and bir thdays. Once you have viewed the list, the APPOINTS display will disappear from the screen.

This is called auto-talk. When you switch auto-talk of f, you answer all calls by pressing the GREEN PHONE button.
