Message Counter Indicates when the machine is on or of f, how many messages have been left or when the memor y is full. Battery Low Lights up if the batter y is not installed or the back-up batter y needs replacing. Ans. Mode Lets you change answer mode to Answer Only so callers are unable to leave messages.

The display will flash for 38 seconds. It will then show the nor mal ‘no messages’ display . The display will flash slowly until any button is pressed.

The back-up batter y (9V alkaline not supplied) ensures that all settings and messages are saved for up to six hours in the event of a power cut.

Response 75 – Edition 7 – 26th October ’00 – 3370 8 Sa fet y instruc tions • Simply clean your Response 75 with a damp (not wet) cloth, or an antistatic wipe. Never use household polish as this may damage the product. Never use a dr y cloth as this may cause static shock.

Press buttons in the order shown To switch the answering machine on or of f: Press the Answer on/ off button.
Response 75 – Edition 7 – 26th October ’00 – 3370 10 Press and hold down the Time button, your Response 75 announces the cur rent hour setting. Whilst holding down the Time button, press the Skip or Skip buttons to select the cor rect hour .
Response 75 – Edition 7 – 26th October ’00 – 3370 11 The outgoing message is the message a caller hears when your Response 75 answers a call. Y our Response 75 comes with 2 pre-r ecorded outgoing messages.
12 Response 75 – Edition 7 – 26th October ’00 – 3370 Call counter The counter will display the number of messages that have been recor ded in the memor y . If you have received 10 or more messages the display will flash 9 to indicate this. Please see page 23 for a guide to the display .
Y our Response 75 announces the cur rent ring delay and the message counter displays the selected answer delay setting. Keep holding the Skip button. Y our Response 75 announces and displays the answer delay options. When you hear your desired setting, release the Skip button.
T o record a memo Play memo Response 75 – Edition 7 – 26th October ’00 – 3370 14 Y ou can use your Response 75 to recor d a memo which can be played back by another user . A memo can be of any length, up to the maximum recor ding time available (36 minutes).
Response 75 – Edition 7 – 26th October ’00 – 3370 15 T o delete all messages W ait until playback of all messages has finished and the message counter begins to count down from 8 to 0. During this time, press the Delete button. Y our Response 75 announces “ All messages deleted ” .

Response 75 – Edition 7 – 26th October ’00 – 3370 17 T o cancel any procedure Pressing the Stop button will cancel any procedur e cur r ently in progr ess. After pressing the Stop button your Response 75 will retur n to ‘ Answer On ’ mode.
18 R emot e ac c ess Y ou can switch on and operate your answering machine from another T ouchT one phone to play back your messages and memos Response 75 – Edition 7 – 26th October ’00 – 3370 T o keep your messages private, your Response 75 requir es you to enter a 2-digit security code before you can play back your messages.
Response 75 – Edition 7 – 26th October ’00 – 3370 19 Y ou can now playback, and access various other remote functions using the phones keypad, as follows: Menu for remote access T o repeat current message During message playback: KEYP AD Press the 4 button.
Response 75 – Edition 7 – 26th October ’00 – 3370 20 T o switch your answering machine on/off When you hear “ End of messages ” or “ Y ou have no messages ” , within 8 seconds, KEYP AD press 8 on your keypad. Y our Response 75 answering machine will switch of f and announce “ Answer of f ” .

When entering your code, make sure you allow enough time, at least 2 seconds, between digits for your Response 75 to recognise each one.

Please note 1471 feature will not work on a switchboard. The Response 75 is intended to be connected to analogue networks and private switching systems in the United Kingdom. It may also be connected to switching systems that use tone (MF) or pulse (LD) signalling, with ear th or timed break r ecall.
26 Response 75 – Edition 7 – 26th October ’00 – 3370 If the batter y war ning light was not lit before the power was lost, all infor mation should be retained for at least one hour (up to 6 hours for a fresh alkaline batter y). If the light was on, data may be lost even if a back-up batter y was installed.
