Pag e 8 P O WERING Y OUR R ADIO The CCRadio will run on (4) “D” size nicad or alkaline batter ies or on 120V A C house current using the included power cord. Batter ies are optional. The batteries are necessar y to keep the time cloc k and memories if the power cord is remov ed from the r adio f or more than three minutes.

Dur ing an emergency or weather related hazard, NOAA issues an emergency tone that will set off an audib le and/or visual alarm on the radio. NO TE: Hazard warnings are not a vailab le in all areas.
near the top radio comes on continuously: WXALER T with Alarm and flashing light will be active . Displa y shows ALER T and red light near the top of the radio . In this mode, if the NO AA aler t tone is issued, the red light on the top of the radio flashes and a siren turns on f or 1 minute.
L OCK S WITCH The Lock s witch can be used when tr anspor ting the radio to pre v ent turning it on. When the s witch is pushed up you will see the Loc k symbol appear on the displa y . It can also be used to disab le all func- tions of the radio when it is turned on.

R ADIO N OISE T R OUBLESHOO TING Annoying b uzzes are many times transmitted through an AM radio. Here is a chec k-off list of the most likely causes: • Dimmer s witch. • Fluorescent light. • “T ouch lamp” type light fixture (e ven when turned off).
