70 Series DVD play er 6 Video C C onnections The DVD7 7 is equipped with Composite (CVBS), S-Video (S VHS), SCART (RGB and CVBS) and Component Video (Y C b C r ) connections. Progressive Scan is only av ailable from the Component video output. With the ex ception of the SCART output, these outputs are picture only .
7 70 Series DVD play er REAR P ANEL CONNECTIONS DVD79 Video C C onnections The DVD79 is eq uipped with Composite (CVBS), S-Video (S VHS), SCART (RGB and CVBS) and Component Video (Y C b C r ) connections.
70 Series DVD play er 8 Connections to a T V /Display - D VD77 only If your TV has S-Video in puts, an S-Video interconnect can be used to connect this play er . When the S-Video output is used the component video outputs cannot be used. If the T V has a component video input, the component video output of this play er can be used.

70 Series DVD play er 12 FRONT P ANEL CONTROLS Standby/ On Switches the unit from Standb y mode to On. Open/Clo se Allows you t o open and close the disc tray to load a disc. The disc will begin loading when the tray is closed. Pressing Pla y will also close the tray and start the Disc.
13 70 Series DVD pla yer OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS - THE D VD MENU DISPLA Y All of these menus are accessed from the blue Cambridge Logo screen that appears when the DVD pla yer is on with no disc in the tray . Pressing the SETUP button on the remot e brings up the DVD menu display .
70 Series DVD play er 14 SPDIF o o utput: Switches the digital audio section of the decoder/output between bitstream (Ra w) and uncompressed stereo digital out (PCM). The bitstream (Raw) must be select ed to enable surr ound sound (Dolby digital/DTS) t o be sent to an external decoder via the audio digital output (coaxial or optical).

70 Series DVD play er 16 Locating a a s s pecific p p oint i i n t t he D D VD Star t the disc as mentioned in the previous chapt er . It is of ten possible to locat e the point that you wish to vie w through the Chapter/Scene Selection on the disc menu that is navigat ed by the cursor keys.
17 70 Series DVD Pla yer MPEG4/MP3 a a nd J J PEG F F ile P P laying The MPEG4 is the audio standard publicised by MPEG4 (Mo ving Picture Exper ts Group). MPEG4 allows video and audio t o be compressed to a fraction of its original size. With a scalable bitstream, it can be adapted t o dynamically varying requirements.

The operating menus are the same as operating MP3 files except that the pre view image will appear in the previe w window when selecting a JPEG file.
