ENG-3 Precautions for Shooting with a Fishe ye Lens • If dir t or dust adheres to the surf ace of the front lens element, it can easily appear in images due to the lens’ s short focal length. In order to avoid this , please remov e dir t or dust from the surf ace of the front lens element by using a commercially a vailab le air dust blo wer .

ENG-5 See your camera’ s instr uctions f or instructions on mounting and detaching the lens. • After detaching the lens, please attach the lens hood and lens cap and place the lens with the rear end up to prev ent the electrical contacts and lens surface from getting scr atched.
ENG-6 3. Zooming To z oom, tur n the zoom ring. Be sure to finish zooming bef ore focusing. Changing the zoom ring after focusing can aff ect the focus . To shoot in autof ocus (AF) mode, set the f ocus mode switch to AF . To use only man ual focusing (MF), set the f ocus mode switch to MF , and focus b y turning the f ocusing ring.
ENG-7 “C” and “H” Markings Adjacent to the zoom ring, the “C” and “H” markings ser v e as guides to indicate the wide- angle zoom position where f ocus is set at infinity at which photos can be created without vignetting when using EOS digital cameras installed with APS-C or APS-H image sensors.
ENG-8 • Circular Fishe ye The circular fisheye eff ect ref ers to the 180 degree circular angle of view which appears within the area of the image sensor .
ENG-9 4. Infinity Compensation Mark Infinity compensation mark Distance index To compensate f or shifting of the infinity f ocus point that results from changes in temperature. The infinity position at normal temperature is the point at which the vertical line of the L mar k is aligned with the distance indicator on the distance scale.
ENG-10 6. Hood Attaching To attach the hood, align the hood’ s attachment position mark with the red dot on the front of the lens, then turn the hood as shown by the arro w until the lens' red dot is aligned with the hood's stop position mark.
ENG-11 Hood Vignetting will not occur while shooting in the f ollo wing zoom ranges when using the lens hood. Please detach the lens hood when shooting outside of these ranges.
ENG-12 7. Lens Cap While the lens hood (included) is attached to the lens, Lens Cap 8-15 can be attached to the lens hood by pressing the b uttons located on the upper and lower sides of the lens cap and aligning its recessed par ts with the con ve x parts f ound in the lens hood.
