5 Oper ating Instructions 1 Safety Prior to using for the first time • Follow the ”Instructions for install ation and connect ion” . • If the appliance is delivere d in th e winter months when there are mi- nus temperatur es: Stor e the washin g machine at room temper ature for 24 hours befor e using for the fir st time.
6 Gener al safety • Repairs to the washing machine must only be carried out by qualified service engineers. • Never use the washing machine if th e mains cable is damaged ; or if the control panel, work top or plin th ar ea is damaged such that the inside of the appliance is fr eely accessible.

10 Befor e the first wash 1. Open the detergent dispenser dr awer . 2. P our about 2 litres of water thr ough the detergent dispenser dr awer into the washing machine. This closes the water container when the next progr amme is started and the economy valve can function pr operly .
11 Running a washing cycle Opening the door/Loa ding the washing 1. To open the door: gently pull the handle on the door . When the machine is switched on, the lights (DOOR) and (START/P AUSE) indicate whether the door can be opened: 2. Unfold washing and load it loosely into the machine.
12 Dosing depends upon: – the washing’s degr ee of soiling, – the size of the load – the degree of har dness of the water supply . • If the manufactur er does not give in structions for small loads: for a half load, use a third less, for a very small load, use only half of the detergen t that is recommended for a full load.
13 Switching on the appliance/selecting a pr ogramme Set the progr amme and tempera- ture using the pr ogramme knob . 3 By selecting a progr amme, you switch the appliance on at the same time. – The progr amme progr ess display indicates the pr ogramme steps that the selected progr amme will perform.
14 Selecting the pr ogramme options If desired, pr ess the progr amme op- tion button(s). The corresponding indicator lights up. 3 If “ Err ” is flashing in the multi- display , the programme option se- lected cannot be combined with the wash progr amme set.
15 3 If the display is showing 23h and you press the button again, the time delay will be cancelled. 0' will appear followed by the length of the wash progr amme that has been set. 3. To activate the delay timer , press the button (START/ PAUSE).
16 Interrupting a pr ogramme/Adding washing Interrupting a pr ogramme • A washing progr amme can be interrupt e d a t a n y t i m e b y p r e s s i n g t he button (START/P AUSE) and then r e-started by pressing the button (START/P AUSE) again. • To stop the washing machine befor e the pr ogramme has ended, turn the progr amme knob to (OFF).
17 Child safety device When the child safety device is set, the door can no longer be closed. Setting the child safety device: Use a coin to turn the knob (on the inside of the door) in a clockwise di- rection as far as it will go. 1 War n i n g ! The knob must not be sunk-in after being set, otherwise the child safety device is not active.
18 Deter gent dispenser drawer The detergent dispenser dr awer should be cleaned regularly . 1. Remove the deter gent dispenser drawer by pulling it firmly . 2. Remove the conditioner insert fr om the middle compartment. 3. Clean all parts with water .
19 What to do if... Remedying small malfunctions If during use of the appliance one of the following err or codes is shown in the multi-display: – E10 (Problems with water inflow), – E20 (Problems with water outflow), – E40 (door open), please have a look at the following table.
20 The washing machine vibrates when operating or is not st able. The transport lock has not been removed. Removing the transport lock . The screw feet not correctly adjusted. Adjust the feet as described in the installation and con- nection instructions.
21 If the wash r esults are not satisfactory Washing is grey and scale is being depos ited in the drum • Too little detergent is being used. • The right deter gent was not used. • Special soiling was not pr e-treated. • Progr amme or temperatur e was not correctly set.
22 Carrying out an emer gency drain 1 War n i n g ! Before emer gency draining, switch off the washing machine and remove the mains plug from the socket. War n i n g ! The water that comes out of the emergency dr ain hose may be hot. There is a risk of scalding.
23 Dr ain pump The dr ain pump is maintenance-free. It is only necessary to open the pump cover if there is a malfunction and water is no longer being pumped out, e. g. if th e pump wheel is blocked. Please make sure befor e loading th e washing that there ar e no for eign bodies in the pockets or caught between the washing.
24 Disposal 2 Packaging material The packaging materials are envir onmentally friendly and can be recy- cled. The plastic components are id entified by markings, e.g. >PE<, >PS<, etc. Please dispose of the pa ckaging materials in the appropriate container at the community waste disposal facilities.

26 Installation and connection instructions 1 Safety information for the installation • This washing machine cannot be built-in . • Before using for the fir st time, check the appliance for damage sus- tained while it was being transpor ted. Do not under any cir cumstanc- es connect an appliance that is damaged.
27 Installing the appliance T ransporting the appliance 1 War n i n g ! The washing machine is very heavy . Risk of injury . Be careful when lifting. • Do not lay the appliance on its fron t nor on its right side (as seen from the fr ont). Electrical components may get wet.
28 2. Remove the power supply cable and the draining hose fr om the hose holders on the rear of the appliance. 3. With a suitable spanner unscrew and rem o v e th e c en t ra l re ar b o l t A . Slide out the relevant plastic spacer . 4. Un s c re w a n d re mo v e t he t w o l arg e rear bolts B and the six smaller bolts C .
29 5. Remove the bracket D. 6. Refit the six smaller bolts C . 7. Open the porthole and remove the polystyrene block fitted with the ad- hesive tape on the door seal. 8. Fill the smaller upper hole and the two large ones with the correspond- ing plastic plug caps supplied in the bag containing the instruction booklet.
30 Connect the water inlet hose as described under the par agraph “W ater inlet” . Wher e to install Important! The appliance must not be used in a room where ther e is a danger of frost. Fr ost damage or impair ed operation! Fr ost damage is not covered by the warranty .
31 Electrical connection Details about the voltage, type of supply and the fuses requir ed are to be found on the rating plate. The r ating plate is next to the doorway . Connecting to the water supply P ermitted water pressur e The water pressur e must be at least 0.
32 4. Connect the hose to a tap with a 3/4” thread. Always use the hose supplied with the appliance. Installation should comply with local water authority an d building r egula- tions’ requir ements. A minimum water pressur e of 0.05 MP a (0.5 bar) is requir ed for safe op- eration of the appliance.
33 W ater drainage The maximum permitted differ ence be tween the height of the surface on which the appliance is installe d and the water outlet is 1 metre. Only original hoses may be used to extend hoses. (A maximum of 3 m laid on the floor and then 80 cm ve rtically).
