7 2 Disposal Dispose of the packaging! Dispose of the packaging material of your washing machine correctly . All packaging materials ar e environmentally friendly and can be dis- posed of without any danger or burnt in the r efuse incinerator .
8 The most important featur es of your appliance • Setting the progr am using the program sele ctor , temperatur e selector and type of washing buttons. • Stain progr a m for effectively tr eating stained washing. • Energy saving progr am for slightly soiled to normally soiled linen.

Structure of the appliance 10 Contr ol panel Pr ogr am selector The progr am selector determines the type of the washing cycle. The different setting positions have the following effect: (PR EWASH) Cold prewash befor e the main wash which follows automatically (not selectable for the Woollens setting).
Structure of the appliance 11 (RINSE) Separate rinse, e. g. for rinsing fabrics washed by hand (spin acco rd ing to the type of washing). (CONDITIONER) Separate fabric softening, separ ate starching, separate impr egnating (one rinse runs, liquid conditioner fr om the compartment À is added).
Structure of the appliance 12 T ype of washing buttons With the type of washing buttons the progr ess of the progr ams (e. g. max. possible temperatur e, water level, drum movement, number of rinses, spin speed) is influenced in accordance with the type of washing to be treated.
Structure of the appliance 13 Compartment for washing powder and fabric softener k Compartment for prewash deter gent / soaking agent or water softener . They are added right at the beginning of the washing pr ogram. l Compartment for non-liquid i.e. powder main detergents and possibly softeners.
14 Consumption values and time r equired for selected pr ogr ams The values in the following table were determined under standar d con- ditions. They provide a useful guide for household use. Befor e using your machine for the first time 0 Slightly pull the detergent compartment out of t he contr ol panel.
15 Pr eparing the washing cycle Sorting out and pr eparing washing • Sort out washing according to the type and car e symb ol (see "Types of washing and care symbols"). • Empty the pockets. • Remove any metal parts (paper clips, safety pins etc.
Preparing the washing cycle 16 W ashing T ypes and Care Symbols Care symbols assist in the selection o f the correct washing progr am. Washing should be sorted accor ding to type and care symbol. The tem- peratur es indicated in the care symbols ar e maximum temperatur es.
Preparing the washing cycle 17 How much washing powder and fabric softener ? The amount to be used depends on • the load: If the washing powder producer does not make any specifications for small loads, use a third less for half loads, and for very small loads only use half of the amount of washing powder recommended for a full load.
18 Run wash cycle Brief instructions A washing cycle consists of the following steps: 0 Open the door , put in the washing. 0 Shut the door . 0 Add detergent/conditioner .
Run wash cycle 19 Filling in the washing 0 Sort the washing according t o the type and prepar e it correctly . 3 For information about the correct pr epara- tion of the washing see "Types of washing and care symbols". 0 Open the door: pull at the handle of the door .
Run wash cycle 20 Adding washing powder / fabric softener 0 Open the compartment: reach into t he recess under the compartment, pull the compartment out as far as it will go. 0 Fill in washing powder/fabric softener . 3 For information about washing powder and fabric softener s see section "Washing powder and conditioners".
Run wash cycle 21 Setting the washing pr ogram 3 See "Progr am tables" for suitable progr a m and corr ect temperatur e for the respective type of washing. Set washing pr ogram Attention! Only turn the progr am selector clockwise! 0 Set the pr ogram selector to the washing progr am selected.
Run wash cycle 22 Start the washing pr ogram, set delay timer and the final spin speed. 0 Check if the tap is open. 0 Switch on the washing machine: press the (ON/OFF) button.
Run wash cycle 23 During the washing pr ogr am Y ou can at any time – change the setting of the final spin speed, – select (Rinse Hold), – change the setting of the temper ature. Other settings cannot be changed. To stop the washing pr ogram prematur ely: 0 Press the (ON/OFF) button.

Cleaning and caring 28 Cleaning and caring In daily use 0 After the progr am has finished pull out the detergent compartment a little so th at it can d ry out. 0 Only lean the door to after washing so that the washing machine is aerated fr om the inside and can dry out.
29 0 Clean the separ ate compartments with warm water from the back. A bottle brush is a useful help here. 0 Push on the suction ca p until the stop, so that it is sitting tightly . 0 Clean the entire deter gent compart- ment inside area with a brush.
Troubleshooting 30 T roubleshooting 3 The whistling noise when spinning which is some- what differ ent compared with older washing machines is due to the modern drive system. Remedy In the event of a problem, try to eliminate it with the help of the infor- mation provided her e.
Troubleshooting 31 Washing machine vibrates durin g o pera- tion or is unstead y . The height-adj ustable screw feet are not corr ectly set. Adjust the feet accor ding to the installation and connec- tion instruction. There is only very little wash- ing in the machine (e.
Troubleshooting 32 Washing has not been spun well, there is water left in the drum. Drain hose is kinked. Eliminate the kink. Maximum pumping height (drain heigh t 1 m f rom the position of the machine) is exceeded. Please contact the custo mer service, it has a retr o-kit available for pump heights above 1 m.
Troubleshooting 33 If the washing r esults ar e not satisfactory If the washing turns greyish and limescale deposits are pr esent in the drum • Insufficient washing powder has been added. • Incorrect washing powder was used. • Special stains were not pr etreated.
Troubleshooting 34 Executing an emer gency emptying 1 War n i n g! Switch off the washing machine and pull the mains plug before an emer gency emptying! If the washing machine no longer pumps out the washing suds an emergency emptying must be carried out.
35 When the suds have drained out completely: 0 Push the plug firmly back into the emer gency emptying hose. 0 Push the emergency emptying hose back in a little and let it catch onto the holder . 0 Replace the flap in the base plate and close it. 3 When the washing machine is completely empty , the Ö KO gate can no longer function correctly .
36 Additional Rinse/W ater Cooling The washing machine is set up for extr emely low water consumption. • However , for people who suffer fr om an allergy to detergent s, it can be useful to rinse with more water (additional rinse).
