4 insi de surf aces. Check belt tens ion by us ing a spring- - force tool (such as Browning’ s Part Number “ Belt T e nsion Checke r” or equivale nt tool); t ension should be 6 - - lbs at a 5/8- - in. deflectio n when meas ured at the cen terline of the belt span.
5 Moto r When re placi ng the m otor , al so re plac e the exte rnal - - tooth lock washer (star washer) under the motor mounting base; this i s part of the motor grounding system. Ensure the teeth on the lock w asher are in con tact with the moto r ’ s painted bas e.
