1 About Y our Modem.
About Y our Modem 1-2 About Y our Modem Jacks Jacks are one-hole connecting interfaces on your modem card. They allo w you to attach other de vices to your card. Jacks are found on the rear panel of your modem card. The jacks on your modem card can be seen in Figure 1-1.

Uninstalling the Modem 4-2 Uninstalling the Modem Uninstalling the Modem Y ou may at times need to uninstall and then re install the modem to co rrect problems, change configurations, or make v ersion upgrades. The following instructions tell you how to uninstall the modem.

Modem F eatur es 5-3 QuickConnect This feature drastically reduces the amount of time it takes to establish a connection wit h your Internet Service Provider . The characteristics of the last call are sa ved in your computer , and retrie ved for subsequent calls, resulting in a short er connection time.
Modem F eatur es 5-4 Using Modem- on-Hold 1. If a call comes in while you are on the Internet, the F axT alk NetOnHol d dialog box simi lar to Figure 5-1 appears, click the Accept Call button. Y ou ha ve tw o minutes to complete your call. The call is automatically cut off after two minutes.
