8 INTRODUC TION Thank you for choosing the EC A M26.455 automa tic coee and cappuccino maker . W e hope you enjoy using y our new appliance. T ake a few minutes to read these instr uc tions . This will av oid all risks and damage to the machine. Symbols used in these instructions Important warnings are identied by these symbols .

10 TURNING THE APPLIANCE ON Please note! Before turning the appliance on, make sur e the main switch on the back of the appliance is pressed (g . 2). Each time the appliance is turned on, it performs an automatic preheat and rinse cycle which cannot be interr upted.
11 T o enable Auto- on, pr oceed as follows: 1. Pr ess the MENU/ESC button to enter the menu; 2. Pr ess the MILK or C APPUC CINO button (g. 8) until “ Auto-star t” is displayed; 3. Pr ess the button. “Enable?” is displayed; 4. Pr ess the button to conrm; 5.

T he lighting is enabled by default. The lights c ome on each time coee and drinks with milk ar e made and during each rinse cycle.

For fuller bodied creamier coee on the other hand, turn one click anticlockwise towar ds “1” (do not turn more than one click at a time otherwise the coee could be delivered a dr op at a time).
14 groove recess Filling and attaching the milk container 1. Remov e the lid (g. 18); 2. Fill the milk container with a sucient quantity of milk, not e xceeding the MA X level marked on the container (g. 19). Each mark on the side of the container corr esponds to 3.
15 3. Release the button. The appliance starts delivering milk. 4. Once the r equired quantity of milk has been delivered into the cup , press the button again. 5. The appliance stops delivering milk and (if r equired for the drink being pr epared) after a few seconds the coee is delivered into the cup .
16 CLEANING Important! • D o not use solv ents, abrasiv e detergents or alcohol t o clean the coee maker . With De’Longhi bean to cup coee makers, you need not use chemical products to clean the machine. • None of the components can be w ashed in a dish washer apart from the milk container (C).
17 Important! RINSE WITH W A TER ONL Y NO W ASHING UP LIQUID NO DISH W ASHER Clean the infuser without using washing up liquid as it could be damaged. 6. Use the brush (D2) to remove any coee residues left in the infuser housing, visible thr ough the infuser door .
18 F ailure to descale the appliance as described also invalidat es the guarantee. 1. T urn the machine on. 2. Pr ess the MENU/ESC button to enter the menu. 3. Pr ess the MILK or CAPPUCCINO button until “Desc aling ” is displayed . 4. Select by pressing the button: “Descaling Conrm?” is displayed.

21 TROUBLESHOOTING Below is a list of some of the possible malfunctions. If the problem cannot be resolv ed as described, contact De’L onghi Customer Experience .
