This amplifier is of the highe st quality and will give you years of enjoym ent if it is w ell maintained. Before you begin, remember, learn your amp an d you’ll be in the best position to achieve the tones and performance you want.

Your amp can be wired for any voltage. This allows you to take your amp all over the world and ensure yo u’re ready for the voltage you need.

PHANTOM OWNER’S MANUAL (rev.2) PAGE 4 OF 17 B E F O R E Y O U B E G I N Ensure your g uitar is p lugged into th e front panel “In put” jack. Make sure your a mplifier is connected to a spe aker (or sp eakers) and ensure yo ur impedance is set correctly (more on this in the previous section).

PHANTOM OWNER’S MANUAL (rev.2) PAGE 6 OF 17 D I A L I N G I N LOW FOCUS The Low Focus knob on the rear panel is one of the best features on all DA products. This knob lets you focus your low frequencies and adjust the amount of lows relative to mids and highs.

When the loop is engaged, each Volume control becomes that Vo lume/Gain’s effects sen d. So, when on the clean channel with the loop engaged, the Volume control on the clean channel becomes the effects send.
PHANTOM OWNER’S MANUAL (rev.2) PAGE 8 OF 17 THE TONE/VOLUME CONTROLS The interplay bet ween the volume and gain dictat es your tone more than an y other controls. So let’s start there. Volume/Gain. As with an y amp, t he gain control dictates t he a mount of saturation, b reak up or distortion of the channel.
PHANTOM OWNER’S MANUAL (rev.2) P AGE 9 OF 17 start with yo ur gain at 5 and work from there. On your clean, start with yo ur gain at around 2 and work up. Bass. This is the most incorrectly used control on an amp. Do we all wa nt f at low e nd? Y ou bet.
PHANTOM OWNER’S MANUAL (rev.2) PAGE 10 OF 17 Dialing in Channel 1 (Clean) Your clean channel is ca pable of a h uge array o f tones ranging from f ull, round crystal cleans to vintage classic rock crunch in cluding blues/Texas blues tones and everything in between.
PHANTOM OWNER’S MANUAL (rev.2) PAGE 11 OF 17 Dialing in Channel 2 (Crunch) You’ll note the Dual Volume/Gain design of Chan nel 2. For the moment, let’s forget about Volume/Gain B. Set them to 0 and forget them. You’re crun ch channel is also capa ble of produ cing a ran ge of tone s as well.
PHANTOM OWNER’S MANUAL (rev.2) PAGE 12 OF 17 Start with whichever of these settings is closer to your tone, then tweak the controls one at a time. Until you really get u sed to the amp, aft er altering one control, ret urn it to whe re you started before tweaking the next.
PHANTOM OWNER’S MANUAL (rev.2) PAGE 13 OF 17 Button 1 (labeled CH 1/2) will cont rol switching between the t wo channels (i.e. clean to dirty). Once o n Channel 2, button 2 (labeled CH2 A/B) will toggle be tween the two volume/gain controls on Ch annel 2.

The bias trim pot, in the event you need to adjust bias, is located on the P CB. DIAGNOSING TUBE PROBLEMS Most tube amp problems relate to the tubes themselves.
PHANTOM OWNER’S MANUAL (rev.2) PAGE 16 OF 17 or microph onic tube in this p osition will affect t he en tire a mp. Microphonic o r no isy tubes in several other positions may not b e audible at a ll. You can try tapping the tubes like you did the power tubes and see if the problem worsens.
