3 IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS 1. Before beginning any exercise program, con- sult your physician. This is especially impor- tant for persons over age 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems. 2. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
4 20. Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running. Always remove the key , unplug the power cord, and press the power switch into the off position when the treadmill is not in use. (See the drawing on page 5 for the location of the power switch.

The TL 2015 treadmill offers an im- pressive selection of features designed to make your workouts at home more enjoyable and effective. An d when you’re not exercising, the unique treadm ill can be folded up, requiring less than half the oor space of other treadmills.
6 P ART IDENTIFICA TION CHART Use the drawings below to identify small parts used for assembly . The number in parentheses below each draw- ing is the key number of the part, from the P ART LIST near the end of this manual. The number following the key number is the quantity used for assembly .
7 ASSEMBL Y • To hire a service technician to assemble this product in your home, call 1-800-445-2480. • Assembly requires two persons. • Place all parts in a cleared area and remove the packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until you nish all assembly steps.
8 3. Identify the Left Upright (89), which is marked with a “Left” sticker or an “L” sticker. Have a sec- ond person hold the Left Upright near the Base (94). See the inset drawing. Tie the wire tie in the Left Upright (89) securely around the end of the Upright Wire (81).
9 5. Identify the Left Base Cover (82) and the Right Base Cover (83). Slide the Left Base Cover onto the Left Upright (89). Slide the Right Base Cover onto the Right Upright (90). Do not press the Base Covers into place yet. Identify the Left Upright Cover (79) and the Right Upright Cover (80).
10 7. Attach the Left Handrail (88) to the Left Upright (89) with two 5/16" x 1" Screws (5), two 5/16" Star Washers (11), and a 5/16" x 1 1/4" Bolt (4). Do not fully tighten the Screws and Bolt yet. Attach the Right Handrail (87) in the same way.
11 10. With the help of a second person, hold the con - sole assembly near the Left Handrail (88). Connect the Upright Wire (81) to the console wire. See the inset drawing. The connectors should slide together easily and snap into place. If th ey do not, turn one connector and try again.
12 12. Firmly tighten the four 3/8" x 2 3/4" Screws (7) and the four 3/8" x 1 1/4" Screws (8) (only one side is shown). Press the Left Base Cover (82) and the Right Base Cover (83) onto the Base (94) until they snap into place. 12 83 8 82 94 7 13.
13 16. IMPORTANT: See page 16 and plug in the power cord. Next, see page 18 and turn on the power. Then, press the Incline increase button once. When the frame stops moving, remove the key from the console and unplug the power cord. 16 IMPORTANT: Make sure to follow all instructions in this step 15.
14 18. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. If there are sheets of plas- tic on the treadmill decals, remove the plastic. To protect the oor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill. Note: Extra hardware may be included.
15 HOW TO PUT ON THE HEART RA TE MONITOR The heart rate monitor consists of a chest strap and a sensor . Insert the tab on one end of the chest strap into the hole in one end of the sensor as shown. Then, press the end of the sen- sor under the buckle on the chest strap.
16 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT HOW TO PLUG IN THE POWER CORD Your treadmill, like other electronic equipment, can be damaged by sudden voltage changes in your home’s power. To decrease the risk of damaging your treadmill, always use a surge suppressor with your treadmill (see drawing 1 at the right).
17 ETEP8901 1 (EPTL8901 1) FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive array of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive and enjoyable. When you use the manual mode, you can change the speed and incline of the treadmill with the touch of a button.
18 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power. If you do not do this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components.
19 4. Change the incline of the treadmill as desired. To change the incline of the treadmill, press the Incline increase or decrease button or one of the numbered Quick Incline buttons. Each time you press one of the buttons, the treadmill will gradu- ally adjust to the selected incline setting.
20 6. Measure your heart rate if desired. Note: If you use the handgrip heart rate moni- tor and the chest heart rate monitor at the same time, the console will not display your heart rate accurately. For information about the chest heart rate monitor, see page 15.
21 HOW TO USE AN ONBOARD WORKOUT 1. Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 18. 2. Select an onboard workout. T o select an onboard workout, press the Calorie button, the Interval button, the Speed button, or the Endure button repeatedly until the desired workout appears in the display.
22 HOW TO USE AN IFIT LIVE WORKOUT Note: To use an iFit Live workout, you must have an optional iFit Live module. To purchase an iFit Live module at any time, go to www.iFit.com or call the telephone number on the front cover of this man- ual. You must also have access to a computer with a USB port and an internet connection.
23 THE INFORMATION MODE The console features an information mode that keeps track of treadmill information and allows you to person- alize console settings. To select the information mode, hold down the Stop button while inserting the key into the console, and then release the Stop button.
24 HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL To avoid damaging the treadmill, adj us t th e i nc li ne to t he lowest position before you fold the treadmill. Then, remove the key and unplug the power cord . CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 45 lbs. (20 kg) to raise, lower, or move the treadmill.
25 Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the simple steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further as- sistance is needed, see the front cover of this manual.
26 Locate the Reed Switch (52) and the Magnet (50) on the left side of the Pulley (49). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch.
27 SYMPTOM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on a. If the walking belt is off-center, rst remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD.
28 EXERCISE GUIDELINES These guidelines will help you to plan your exercise program. For detailed exercise information, obtain a reputable book or consult your physician. Remember , proper nutrition and adequate rest are essential for successful results.
29 SUGGESTED STRETCHES The correct form for several basic stretches is shown at the right. Move slowly as you stretch —never bounce. 1. Toe Touch Stretch Stand with your knees bent slightly and slowly bend forward from your hips. Allow your back and shoulders to relax as you reach down toward your toes as far as possible.
