3. Select Wi-Fi Setup Wizard . Note: If you need to disable the wireless network to set up your product on an Ethernet network, scroll down and select Disable Wi-Fi instead. Then follow the instructions on the Start Here sheet to set up your product on a wired network and install the necessary software from the product CD.
7. Confirm the displayed network settings and select Proceed to save them. Note: If you need to change a setting, press the back button. 8. If you want to print a network setup report, press the start button. (Otherwise, select Cancel .) 9. Press the home button to exit.
3. Scroll down and select Wi-Fi Direct Connection Setup . 4. Select Proceed . 5. When you see a message asking you to select the Wi-Fi Network, scroll down to view the SSID (Wi- Fi network name) and password. 6. Select Change Password and select Proceed .

You see an AP connection symbol on the LCD screen and should be able to print directly to your product from your computer or device.

Loading Paper Before you print, load paper for the type of printing you will do. Loading Paper in Cassette 1 (Upper Cassette) Loading Paper in Cassette 2 (Lower Cassette) Loading Paper in the Rear Pap.
Note: As you slide in the output tray, there may be slight resistance and noise. This is normal. 2. Open the front cover. 3. Pull out the upper paper cassette.
5. Set the front edge guide to the position for the paper size you are using. Note: Various paper sizes are marked on the tray. 6. Insert paper with the glossy or printable side facedown. Note: Make sure the paper is loaded against the front edge guide.
8. Keep the cassette flat as you insert it. Note: The output tray opens automatically when you print. Leave enough space in front of the product for the paper to be fully ejected. Do not remove or insert the paper cassette while the product is operating.

4. Slide the edge guides outward. Note: If you are using legal-size paper, remove the CD/DVD tray from the product. Press the button on the cassette and then extend it as shown. 5. Set the front edge guide to the paper size you are using. Note: Various paper sizes are marked on the tray.
6. Insert paper with the glossy or printable side facedown. Note: Make sure the paper is loaded against the edge guide and not sticking out from the end of the cassette. 7. Slide the side edge guides against the paper, but not too tightly. Note: Make sure the paper is under the tabs on the edge guides.
8. Keep the cassette flat as you insert it. Note: The output tray opens automatically when you print. Leave enough space in front of the product for the paper to be fully ejected. Do not remove or insert the paper cassette while the product is operating.
1. Send your print job from a computer or using the product's touch screen. • If printing from a computer, select Rear Paper Feed Slot for the Source (Windows) or Paper Source (Mac OS X) setting. • If printing from the product's touch screen, select Rear Paper Feed Slot for the Paper Source setting.
4. Do one of the following: • Load a single sheet of paper or thick media, printable side up and short edge first, in the center of the rear paper feed slot. Slide the edge guides against the paper, but not too tightly. • Load an envelope, short edge first with the flap facing down, in the center of the rear paper feed slot.
5. Push the paper or envelope down until it meets resistance. About 2 inches (5 cm) of the paper should be fed inside the printer as shown. 1 2 inches (5 cm) 6. When you are ready to print, press the start button. Note: To cancel printing, select Cancel .
Loading Envelopes Loading Envelopes You can load envelopes in Cassette 2 (lower cassette) as described here. You can print on plain paper envelopes in this size: No. 10 (4.1 × 9.5 inches [105 × 241 mm]). You can also load a single envelope in the rear paper feed slot, as described in that section.
3. Pull on the front cover to pull out the lower paper cassette. 4. Slide the edge guides outward. 5. Insert up to 10 envelopes, printable side facedown and flap edge left, as shown. Note: Make sure the envelope is not sticking out from the end of the cassette.
6. Slide the edge guides against the envelopes, but not too tightly. Note: Make sure the envelopes are under the tabs on the edge guides. 7. Keep the cassette flat as you insert it.

Placing Originals on the Product Follow the instructions here to place your original documents or photos on the product. Caution: Do not place anything on top of your product or use its cover as a writing surface to avoid damaging it.
3. If you are copying two book pages onto one sheet, place the book as shown to copy the first page, then turn the book as shown to copy the second page.
Caution: Make sure your originals are not creased or folded, and do not contain holes, staples, tape, or other materials that could obstruct the feeder. 1. Open the ADF paper support, and then slide out the output tray extension. 2. Slide the ADF edge guide outward.

Copying and Restoring Photos You can restore the colors in faded photos as you copy them. 1. Load photo paper in the product. 2. Press the home button, if necessary. 3. Select More Functions . 4. Select Copy/Restore Photos . 5. Select On . 6. Place up to two original photos on the product.

Printing From a Computer Before printing from your computer, make sure you have set up your product and installed its software as described on the Start Here sheet. Note: If you have an Internet connection, it is a good idea to check for updates to your product software on Epson's support website.
2. Select the print command in your application. Note: You may need to select a print icon on your screen, the Print option in the File menu, or another command. See your application's help utility for details. 3. If necessary, select your product name as the printer you want to use.
4. Select the Quality Option setting that matches your print content and the print quality you want to use. 5. Select the Source setting that indicates where you loaded the paper or CD/DVD you want to print on. 6. Select the type of paper you loaded as the Type setting.

• To print multiple pages on one sheet of paper, select the number of pages in the Pages per Sheet pop-up menu. To arrange the print order of the pages, select a Layout Direction setting. • To print borders around each page on the sheet, select a line setting from the Border pop-up menu.
Note: Some options may be pre-selected or unavailable, depending on other settings you have chosen or if you are accessing the product over a network. This screen may be different, depending on the version of Mac OS X you are using. 1. Select one of the Two-sided Printing options.

If necessary, customize the Adjustments settings as instructed on the screen. 4. Print a test copy of your double-sided document to test the selected settings.
Short-Edge binding Orients double-sided printed pages to be bound on the short edge of the paper. Adjustments Print Density Sets the level of ink coverage for double-sided printing.

Starting a Scan from a Scanning Program You can start Epson Scan from a scanning program to select scan settings, scan, and open the scanned image in the program. Note: With OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, or 10.9, in addition to scanning with Image Capture, you can download and install Epson Scan scanning software.

ADF - Single-sided Selects the Automatic Document Feeder as the location where the originals are placed on your product for single-sided scanning. ADF - Double-sided Selects the Automatic Document Feeder as the location where the originals are placed on your product for double-sided scanning.
1. In the Preview window, click the Auto Locate icon to create a marquee (dotted line) on the preview image. 2. Do the following, as necessary, to work with the selected scan area: • If the marquee is correct, continue with the next step. • To move the marquee, click inside the scan area and drag the marquee where you want it.
• To resize the scan area, place your cursor over the edge or corner of the marquee, then click and drag the edges where you want them. (Hold down the Shift key as you resize the marquee to retain the same width/height proportions.
Descreening Removes the ripple pattern that might appear in subtly shaded image areas, such as skin tones. This option improves results when scanning magazines or newspapers. (The results of descreening do not appear in the preview image, only in your scanned image.
2. Select the Document Type setting that matches your original, such as Photograph or Text/Line Art . 3. Select the Image Type setting that matches your original.
4. Select the way you plan to use your scanned image as the Destination setting. (The Resolution setting is selected automatically based on the Destination setting you choose.) • Screen/Web : Select this option for images you will email, view on a computer screen, or post on the web.
Selecting a Scan Area - Home Mode You can select a specific area in your preview image to include in your scanned image. You can select the entire image area or a portion of it. You can even select multiple scan areas to create multiple scanned images of different areas (Normal Preview mode only).
• Normal preview : Click the Auto Locate icon to create a marquee (dotted line) on the preview image. 125.
2. Do the following, as necessary, to work with the selected scan area: • If the marquee is correct, continue with the next step. • To move the marquee, click inside the scan area and drag the marquee where you want it.
• Normal preview : To create additional marquees (up to 50), click the Copy Marquee icon to copy the existing marquee and paste it on the preview image. Note: If you draw multiple marquees, make sure you select the All button in the Preview window before you scan.
Dust Removal Removes dust marks from your originals automatically. Text Enhancement Sharpens the appearance of letters in text documents. Auto Area Segmentation Makes grayscale images clearer and text recognition more accurate by separating the text from the graphics.
3. Do the following, as necessary, to work with the selected scan area: • To move the marquee, click inside the scan area and drag the marquee where you want it. • To resize the scan area, place your cursor over the edge or corner of the marquee, then click and drag the edge where you want it.
4. To create a scanned image size that is not available in the Target Size list, click the Customize option. 5. Name the custom size, enter the size, click Save , and click OK . Then create a scan area on the preview image. The marquee is automatically proportioned for your custom scan size.

Selecting a Scan Area - Professional Mode You can select a specific area in your preview image to include in your scanned image. You can select the entire image area or a portion of it. You can even select multiple scan areas to create multiple scanned images of different areas (Normal Preview mode only).
• Thumbnail preview : Your scan area is selected automatically, but you can change it. Place your cursor in one corner of the desired scan area, then click and drag the cursor to the opposite corner to create a marquee (dotted line) on the preview image.
2. Do the following, as necessary, to work with the selected scan area: • If the marquee is correct, continue with the next step. • To move the marquee, click inside the scan area and drag the marquee where you want it.
• Normal preview : To create additional marquees (up to 50, if available), click the Copy Marquee icon to copy the existing marquee and paste it on the preview image.
Descreening Removes the ripple pattern that might appear in subtly shaded image areas, such as skin tones. This option improves results when scanning magazines or newspapers. (The results of descreening do not appear in the preview image, only in your scanned image.
Threshold Adjusts the level at which black areas in text and line art are delineated, improving text recognition in OCR (Optical Character Recognition) programs. Note: If you have a DSL or ISDN connection, you must connect the appropriate DSL filter, or ISDN terminal adapter or router to the wall jack to be able to use the line for faxing or voice calls using your product. Contact your DSL or ISDN provider for the necessary equipment.
