13 T ouch controls o verview ON/OFF control T urns the cooktop on and off Keylock control: Locks the controls (except ON/ OFF) to prevent unintended use T urns the outer section of the dual cooking zo.
14 Using the touch c ontrols The cooking zone and timer displays also function as touch controls . T o selec t a cooking zone or the timer , simply touch its display . Use the ball of y our finger , not its tip. The controls respond to touch, so y ou don’ t need to apply any pressur e.
15 T o start cook ing Using y our cooktop 1 T urn on the cooktop . Notes: CL (cleared) in the timer display means that the timer is not set. If you do not select a cooking zone within 20 seconds, the cookt op will automatically turn off . 3 Select a heat setting ( 0 - 9 ).
16 T o modify the heat setting during cooking When you ha ve finished using a cooking zone , you can turn it off , but continue to use other cooking zones: turn the whole cooktop off: Using y our cooktop 1 Select a cook ing zone . 1 Select the cook ing zone you want t o turn off .
17 Using the dual (right rear) c ooking zone When you turn the dual (right rear) cooking zone on, both the inner and outer sections will heat. Use the control to toggle the out er section off or on again. Locking the controls Y ou can lock the controls to prevent unint ended use (for example children accidentally turning cooking zones on).

20 Using the GentleHeat fea ture This heat setting between 0 and 1 provides c ontinuous gentle heat and is ideal for: delicate cooking tasks such as melting chocolate warming plates keeping cooked food warm. If reheating cooked f ood from cold, alwa ys bring it to the boil on a higher setting before chang ing to the GentleHeat setting.
21 Using the timer Y ou can set the timer to automatically turn one or more cooking zones off when the set time is up. Impor tant! Never leave the cooktop unattended when in use , even if you have set the timer to automatic ally turn a cooking zone off .
22 When the set time is up The corresponding indicat or in the timer display will flash, the timer will beep, and the c ooking zone will automatically turn off (its display sho wing H if the sur face is hot).
23 Cooking guidelines Cookware Use heavy-gauge, flat, smooth-based cookware that matches the diameter of the cooking zone. This will provide good c ontact with the glass and help reduce cooking times. Low heat or slow cooking is often due to incorrect cookware size.
