2 Impor tant sa fety instruc tions Installation Read these instructions carefully before installing or using this product. Please make this information av ailable to the person responsible for installing the product as it could reduce y our installation costs.
3 Always disc onnect the cooktop from the electricit y supply before carrying out any maintenance operations or repairs. In the room where the cooktop is installed, there must be enou gh air to allow the gas to burn correctly , according to the current loc al regulations.
4 Safety and warnings W ARNING! Hot Sur face Hazar d This appliance bec omes hot during use. Do not touch the cooktop c omponents, burners, trivets , pan supports or the base when hot. Before cleaning , turn the burners o and make sure the whole cookt op is cool.
5 Impor tant sa fety instruc tions Operation Keep children aw ay from the cooktop when it is in use. Household appliances are not intended to be played with by children. Children, or persons with a disability which limits their ability to use the appliance, should have a responsible person to instruct them in its use.

8 Installation instructions F astening the installation brackets (F ig. 4a and 4b) Each cooktop is pro vided with an installation kit including brackets and screws for fastening the cooktop to benches fr om 20 to 40 mm thick.
9 Installation instructions Connecting the cooktop to the gas supply The gas connection must be carried out by an authorised person according to the r elevant standards. Before connecting the appliance to the gas main, mount the brass conical adaptor onto the gas inlet pipe, upon which the washer has been placed (F igs.
10 Installation instructions Leak-t esting and flame -testing the cooktop 1 After connecting the gas supply , check the piping and connections for leaks using a soap and water solution. The presence of bubbles indicates a leak. Tighten or replace c onnections as appropriate .
11 Installation instructions Con verting to a different gas type Impor tant! The conv ersion procedure must be carried out only by an authorised person. This appliance is suitable for use with Natural gas or LPG (check the “ gas type” sticker attached to the appliance).
12 Installation instructions Adjusting the minimum burner setting When changing from one type of gas to another , the minimum valve output must also be correct, considering that in this position the flame must be about 4 mm long and must re- main lit even when the knob is turned quickly from the maximum to the minimum position.

1 8 Using y our cooktop Gas burners The knob (Fig . 14) controls the flow of gas through the saf ety valve. O = closed valve = maximum flow = minimum flow Y ou can choose to cook at an y heat between and , but never between and O . 22 General advice Maintenance P eriod Description Daily Clean gas cooktop as per follo wing instructions. Monthly Remove all burner parts, and clean using a non-abrasive detergent. Rinse in cold water , dry thoroughly, and r eplace. Clean the ignitor carefully , using a toothbrush and methylated spirits .
23 Car e and cleaning Burners and trivets Y ou can remov e and clean these par ts with hot soapy water or other appr opriate products - see ‘Cleaning chart ’ . After cleaning, check that the burners and their flame spreaders ar e dry before replacing correctly .

26 T roubleshooting T roubleshooting char t Problem Possible solutions A burner does not light Check the cooktop is plugged in and the electricity is switched on. Check the gas supply valve is turned on and the supply to the house is working. Y ou should hear the gas when you turn a burner on.
27 W arranty and ser vice Before y ou call for service or assistance ... Check the things you can do yourself . Refer to the installation instructions and your user guide and check that: 1 your product is correctly installed. 2 you are familiar with its normal operation.
