2 I ntroduction Congratulations on the purchase of y our new Ceramic Cooktop . We str ongly recommend that you r ead this User Guide carefully to take full advantage of the features off ered by this product. This books covers operational instructions for the C T560, C T655 and C T280 series ceramic cooktops.
3 Contr ols - conventional models As the control knob is turned clock wise, the heat output is increased. Turn the contr ol k nob to the High setting to begin cooking and adjust as necessar y . The elements are contolled by variable energy regulators giving infinit e control.
4 Contr ols - touch control models Y our cooktop has temperature settings ranging from 1-9, the low est setting being 1 and the highest setting 9. The low settings (from 1-5), off er a subtle and broad range of simmer settings (ref er to the ‘ T emperature Setting Guide ’).
5 Using the elements 1 With the cooktop turned on, touch the corresponding element button in the t ouch controls for the element you wish to cook on. 2 The red light will stop flashing and r emain static, beside the element that is selected. (If no element is selected within 5-10 seconds the cooktop will automatically turn off ).
6 Keylock T o lock the controls for cleaning or to pr event children from pla ying, touch the button, then touch the button. A light will go on beside the keylock button. All the controls are now locked (except for the button). If the cooktop is turned off , the keylock light will go out, even though the controls ar e still locked.
7 Dual element control The left front element is designed for dual element contr ol, using either the inner or full element. 1 With the cooktop turned on, touch the button in the touch controls . The red light will stop flashing and remain static . 2 Select the element temperature setting, using the arrows as requir ed.
8 While this function is activated the element indicator will flash between and the reduced temperature setting , until the fixed time elapses, and the reduced t emperature setting is reached.
9 Cookware T o get the best results out of your cooktop f ollow these simple suggestions : Use heavy gauge, flat, smooth bottom pans that conf orm to the diameter of the cook ing area. This will provide good contact with the glass and help reduce cooking times.
10 Cleaning Caring f or your cooktop Use cleaner on the cooktop while it is warm to touch. Rinse and wipe dr y with a clean cloth or paper towel . The cooktop may become stained if cleaning residue remains . Remove any f ood, spillovers or gr ease from the cooktop while it is still warm using the razor blade scraper provided held at a 30° angle.
11 Stainless steel surround Impor tant! Do not use harsh/abrasive cleaning agents to clean your c ooktop as they may damage the stainless steel finish and the knobs. Impor tant! Commercial stainless st eel cleaner containing chlorine compounds are corr osive and may damage the appearance of your cookt op.
12 P roblem solving - t ouch control models If you find you are experiencing problems operating the cooktop , we recommend that using the ball of your finger works better than the tip of your finger on the touch contr ols. A slight film of water over the touch contr ols may make the buttons unresponsive.
13 F requently asked questions Q Is it possible for m y cooktop to shatter? A This is highly unlikely . The glass is ver y robust and strong and goes thr ough a vigorous testing process befor e it is accepted. Q Does the glass scratch easily? A No , the glass is ver y tough.
14 Manufac turer ’ s warrant y Before y ou call for service or assistance ... Check the things you can do yourself . Refer to the installation instructions and your user guide and check that: 1 Y our product is correctly installed. 2 Y ou are familiar with its normal operation.
