3 Safety and warnings W ARNING ! Hot Sur face Hazar d Ac cessible parts of this appliance will become hot during use. Care should be tak en to av oid touching the cookt op sur face other than the controls . F ailure to do so could result in burns and scalds .
4 T empera ture c ontrol - Titan The elements are c ontrolled by variable energy regulators giving infinit e control . Ther e is no ‘st op ’ at the low marking. This is to allow you t o experiment with finding the minimum heat for those delicate c ooking tasks.
5 T empera ture c ontrol - Titan Supersimmer The front right element of y our cooktop is fitted with a unique simmer control . This allo ws the element to be turned down to a v er y low and ev en power setting (25 watts compared with 60 watts on other elements).
6 T empera ture c ontrol - Sol X Y our cooktop has temperature settings ranging fr om 1-9, the lowest setting being 1 and the highest setting 9. The low settings (fr om 1-5), offer a subtle and broad range of simmer settings (r efer t o the ‘ T emperature setting guide ’).
7 T emperatur e contr ol - Sol X Using the elements 1 With the c ooktop turned on, touch the corr esponding element button in the touch contr ols for the element y ou wish to cook on. The red light will st op flashing and remain static, beside the element that is selected.
8 T empera ture c ontrol - Sol X Keylock T o lock out the contr ols for cleaning or to pr event children fr om playing , touch the button , then touch the keylock button . A light will go on beside the keylock button. All the contr ols are now locked (ex cept f or the button ).
9 T emperatur e contr ol - Sol X Dual element contr ol The left front element is designed f or dual element control , using either the inner or full element. 1 With the c ooktop turned on, touch the button in the touch contr ols. The red light will stop flashing and remain static .
10 T empera ture c ontrol - Sol X While this function is ac tivated the element indicat or will flash between and the reduced temperature setting , until the fixed time elapses , and the reduced t emperature setting is reached.
11 C ookware T o get the best results out of y our cooktop f ollow these simple suggestions: Use heavy gauge, flat, smooth bottom pans that c onform to the diamet er of the cooking area. This will pro vide good contact with the glass and help reduce cooking times.
12 Car e and cleaning Caring f or your c ooktop Use ceramic glass cleaner on the cookt op while it is warm to touch. Rinse and wipe dr y with a clean cloth or paper tow el.
13 Stainless steel surround Impor tant! Do not use harsh/abrasive cleaning agents to clean your c ooktop as they may damage the stainless steel finish and the knobs . Commercial stainless steel cleaner containing chlorine c ompounds are corrosive and may damage the appear ance of your c ooktop.
14 F r equently asked questions Q Is it possible for m y cooktop to sha tter? A This is highly unlikely . The glass is very robust and strong and goes thr ough a vigorous testing pr ocess befor e it is accepted . Q Does the glass scratch easily? A No , the ceramic glass is very tough.
15 P roblem P ossible solutions Ther e is a metal sheen on the glass. This could be caused by c opper or aluminium bottomed pots. Ceramic cleaner should r emove this . If the cooktop is not cleaned regularly and the stains are allo wed to burn ont o the sur face, they may react with the glass and no longer be remo vable.
16 W arranty and ser vice Befor e you call f or ser vice or assistanc e ... Check the things you can do yourself . Refer to the installation instructions and your user guide and check that: 1 Y our product is correctly installed. 2 Y ou are familiar with its normal operation.
