It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that all users of this treadmill are adequately informed of all warnings and precautions.
4 2 0. Never leave the treadmill unattended while it is running. Always remove the key, unplug the power cord, and switch the reset/off cir- cuit breaker to the off position when the treadmill is not in use. (See the drawing on page 5 for the location of the circuit breaker.

ASSEMBL Y T o hire an authorized service technician to assemble the treadmill, call 1-800-445-2480. Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed.
7 3. Identify the Right Upright (86) and the Right Upright Spacer (92). Insert the Upright Wire (97) through the Right Upright Spacer (92) as shown. Then, set the Right Upright Spacer on the Base (95). Be care- ful not to pinch the Upright Wire. Have a second person hold the Right Upright (86) near the Base (95).
8 6. Set the Left Upright Spacer (87) on the Base (95). Have a second person hold the Left Upright (85) near the Base. Hold a Bolt Spacer (25) inside the lower end of the Left Upright. Next, insert a 3/8" x 4 1/2" Bolt (6) with a 3/8" Star Washer (10) into the Left Upright and the Bolt Spacer.
9 9. Insert the speed wires and the incline wires into the area at the ends of the Pulse Bar (103). Attach the Left Handrail (101) and the Right Handrail (105) to the console assembly with four #8 x 1/2" Screws (2), two 3/8" x 3/4" Patch Bolts (8), and two 3/8" Star Washers (10).
11. Identify the Left Accessory Tray (112) and the Right Accessory Tray (116). Attach the Left Accessory Tray and the Right Accessory Tray to the console assembly with eight #8 x 1/2" Screws (2). 2 11 2 Console A ssembly 116 112 12. Have a second person hold the console assem- bly near the Uprights (85, 86).
1 1 14. Attach the Right Bottom Handrail Cover (108) a nd the Left Bottom Handrail Cover (104) to the console assembly with four #8 x 3/4" Screws (1). C onsole Assembly 1 14 104 108 1 15. Raise the Frame (57) to the position shown. Have a second person hold the Frame until this step is completed.
12 1. Make sure that the power cord is unplugged. Remove the indicated #8 x 1/2" Screw (2) from the Access Door (123) on the back of the con- sole assembly. 2. Next, hold the receiver so that the antenna is oriented as shown. Peel the paper backing off the pad on the bottom of the receiver.
13 OPERA TION AND ADJUSTMENT T HE PRE-LUBRICATED WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with high- performance lubricant. IMPORTANT: Never apply sil- i cone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
14 FEATURES OF THE CONSOLE The treadmill console offers an impressive selection of features designed to make your workouts more effec- tive and enjoyable. When the manual mode of the con- sole is selected, the speed and incline of the treadmill can be changed with the touch of a button.
15 HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to c old temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem- perature before turning on the power. If you do not d o this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components.
16 5. Follow your progress with the displays. The matrix —When you s elect the manual mode, the matrix will d isplay a track that rep- resents 1/4 mile (400 meters). As you exer- cise, the indicators around the track will appear in succession until the entire track appears.

21 THE INFORMATION MODE The console features an information mode that keeps t rack of the total distance that the walking belt has moved and the total number of hours that the treadmill h as been used. The information mode also allows you to select miles or kilometers to measure distance, and to turn on and turn off the display demo mode.
22 THE OPTIONAL CHEST PULSE SENSOR An optional chest pulse sensor offers hands-free oper- a tion as it tracks your heart rate during your workouts. To purchase the optional chest pulse sensor, call t he telephone number on the front cover of this manual.

24 HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1 . Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand. Pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. It may be neces- sary to push the frame forward as you pull the knob to the left. Pivot the frame downward and release the latch knob.
25 TROUBLESHOOTING M ost treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please see the front cover of this manual. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
26 Remove t he three #8 x 3/4" Screws (1) a nd care- fully pivot the Motor Hood (63) off. Locate the Reed Switch (77) and the Magnet (51) on the left side of the Pulley (52). Turn the Pulley until the Magnet is aligned with the Reed Switch. Make sure that the gap between the Magnet and the Reed Switch is about 1/8 in.
27 PROBLEM: The walking belt is off-center or slips when walked on SOLUTION: a. If the walking belt is off-center, first remove the k ey and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD.
