Chain Saw Model CS 33EB Handling instructions Note: Before using this machine, carefully read through these HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS to ensure e ffi cient, safe operation. It is recommended that these INSTRUCTIONS be kept readily available as an important reference when using this machine.
1 MEANINGS OF SYM BO L S NOTE: Some units do not carry them. Symbols W ARNING The followin g show symbols used for the ma chine. Be sure tha t you understand their meaning bef ore use. It is important that you read, fully understand and observe the follow ing safety precautions and warnin gs.
2 WHA T IS WHA T? 1. Throt tle trigger: Device activated by the operator ʼ s fi nger , for controlling the engine speed. 2. Throttle trigger lockout ( Safety trigger) : Device that prevents the accidental operation of the thro t tle trigger until manually released.
3 W ARNINGS AND SAFET Y INSTRUCTIONS Operator safe ty ○ Always we ar a safety face shield or goggles. ○ Gloves should be used when sharpening chain. ○ Always we ar safety prot ective equipment such as jacket, trousers, glov es, helmet, boots with steel toe-c aps and non- slip soles whenever yo u use a chain saw .
4 W ARNING Improper maintenance could result in serious engine damage or in serious personal injury . Tr a n s p o r t and storage ○ Carr y the unit/machine by hand with the engine stopped and the mu ffl er away from yo ur body .

6 ASSE MBL Y PRO CED URE S W ARNING Never try to start engine without side case securely fastened. 1. Remove chain bar clamp nuts (1). 2. Remov e the side case (2) as pinching the rear part of the side case (2).
7 ○ Fue l contains highly fl ammable and it is possible to ge t the serious personal injury when inhaling or spilling on your body . Always pay attent ion when handling fuel. Always have good venti lat ion when handling fuel inside building. Fig. 7 Fue l ○ Always use branded 89 octane unleaded gasoline.
8 How to con fi rm: 1) Tu r n o ff the engine. 2) Holding the chain saw horizontally , release yo ur hand from the front handle, hit the tip of the guide bar to a stump or a piece of wood, and con fi rm brake operation . Opera ting le vel varies by bar size .
9 Fig. 17 ○ There is a risk of kickba ck if the saw is pushed far enough so that you begin to cut with the nose of the bar . The saf est cutting method is to cut with the bottom part of the chain. Sawing with the upper part makes it much more di ffi cult to control the saw and increases the risk of kickback.
10 LIMBING THICK BR ANCHES When limbing thick branches, the guide bar ma y get pinched easily. Branches under tension often snap up , so cut troublesome branches in small steps. Apply the same principles as for cross cutting. Think ahead and be aware of the possible consequences of all yo ur actions.
11 IF THE SAW GETS STUCK Stop the engine. Raise the log or change its position, using a thick branch or pole as a lever . Do not try to pull the saw free. If you do, you can deform the handle or be injured by the saw chain if the saw is suddenly relea sed.

14 Monthly maintenance ○ Rinse the fuel tank with gasoline , and clean fuel fi lter . ○ Clean chain oil fi lter . ○ Clean the ext eri or of the carburet or and the space around it. ○ Clean the fan and the space around it. ○ Clean the mu ffl er of carbon .
