SECTION 1—GENERAL GUIDELINES Part No. 1163197 9 Insignia ™ Seat ‐ to ‐ floor  angle  of  0°  or  3°:  If  so  equipped,  anti ‐ tippers  must  be  attached  at  all  times.

SECTION 2—SAFETY/HANDLING OF WHEELCHAIRS Part No. 1163197 11 Insignia ™ SECTION 2—SAFETY/HANDLING OF WHEELCHAIRS Safety/Handling of Wheelchairs Safety  and  handling  of  the  wheelchair  require  the  close  attention  of  the  wheelchair  user  as  we l l  as  the  assistant.
SECTION 2—SAFETY/HANDLING OF WHEELCHAIRS Insignia ™ 12 Part No. 1163197 A Note to Wheelchair Assistants When  assistance  to  the  wheelchair  user  is  required,  remember  to  us e  good  body  mechanics.
SECTION 2—SAFETY/HANDLING OF WHEELCHAIRS Part No. 1163197 13 Insignia ™ Tipping  WARNING DO NOT tip the wheelcha ir without assistance. ALWAYS check hand grips for loo seness before using the wheelch air. If loose and/or worn, replace IMMEDIATELY.
SECTION 2—SAFETY/HANDLING OF WHEELCHAIRS Insignia ™ 14 Part No. 1163197  WARNING When lowering the front casters of the wheelchair, DO NOT let th e wheelchair drop the last few inches to the ground. Th is could result in injury to th e occupant and/or damage to the wheelchair.

SECTION 2—SAFETY/HANDLING OF WHEELCHAIRS Insignia ™ 16 Part No. 1163197 4. Press  downw ard  on  the  top  of  the  seat  rail  until  the  wheelchair  is  fully  open  and  the  seat  rails  are  fully  seated  in  the  H ‐ blocks.
SECTION 3—SAFETY INSPECTION/TROUBLESHOOTING Part No. 1163197 17 Insignia ™ SECTION 3—SAFETY INSPECTION/TROUBLESHOOTING NOTE:  Every  six  months  or  as  necessary ,  take  your  wheelchair  to  a  qualifi ed  technician  for  a  thorough  inspection  and  servicin g.
SECTION 3—SAFETY INSPECTION/TROUBLESHOOTING Insignia ™ 18 Part No. 1163197 ❑ Ensure  all  spokes  are  uniformly  tight. ❑ Inspect  axle  assembly  for  proper  tension  by  spinning  caster .  Caster  should  come  to  a  gradual  stop.

SECTION 8—FRONT CASTERS Insignia ™ 34 Part No. 1163197 6. T est  wheelchair  for  maneuverability . 7. Readjust  locknuts  if  neces sary ,  and  repeat  STEPS  5 ‐ 6  until  correct. 8. Snap  dust  cover  ov er  the  locknut  and  st em  (Detail  “C”).
SECTION 8—FRONT CASTERS Part No. 1163197 35 Insignia ™ Replacing/Repairing Front Caster Tire/Tube  WARNING Replacement of front caster ti re or tube MUST be performe d by a qualified technician. CAUTION As with any vehicle, check the wheels and tires pe riodically for cracks and wear.
SECTION 9—WHEEL LOCKS Insignia ™ 36 Part No. 1163197 SECTION 9—WHEEL LOCKS  WARNING After any adjustments, re pair or service and before use, make sure all attac hing hardware is tightened securely. Otherwise injury or damage may occur. If wheel locks DO NOT hold the occupied wheelchair in place, contact a qualif ied technician.
SECTION 9—WHEEL LOCKS Part No. 1163197 37 Insignia ™ 8. If  wheel  lock  is  unable  to  properly  engage  the  wheel,  contact  yo ur  local  dealer  or  Inv acare  at  the  number  on  the  back  cover .

Otherwise injury or damage may occur. The I.V./O2 holder MUST be checked weekly to en sure it is tightly secu red to the wh eelchair frame.

Holder Installing/Removing the O2 Holder CAUTION The O2 holder can only be instal led on the left side due to th e angle of the plate between the step tube and the O2 holder frame.
SECTION 11—OPTIONS Part No. 1163197 43 Insignia ™ 4. Secure  the  mounting  bracket  of  the  O2  holder  and  bac k  upholstery  to  the  back  cane  with  the  mounting  screw  removed  in  STEP  2.
SECTION 11—OPTIONS Insignia ™ 44 Part No. 1163197 Using the O2 Holder  WARNING Only use O2 cylinders that are at least 10.7 inches in height and 4 3 / 8 inches in diam eter. Smaller O2 cylinders will not secure in place properly which may result in injury and/or damage to the cylinder.
SECTION 11—OPTIONS Part No. 1163197 45 Insignia ™ Installing/Removing the IV/O2 Holder CAUTION The IV/O2 holder can only be inst alled on the left side due to th e angle of the pl ate between the step tube and the IV /O2 holder frame.

Smaller O2 cylinders will not properly secure in place whic h may result in injury and/or damage to the O2 cylinder.

When loading the crutch/cane carrier , ensure items are securely plac ed into the base. Also ensure that there is no interference wi th folding the wheelcha ir, the rear wheels, or the swing-back arms.
