22 Operation GB Operation The hob The hob is equipped with an indu ction cooking mode. An induction coil underneath the glass cer amic hob generates an electromagnetic alt ernating fiel d which penetrates th e glass ceramic and induces the heat -generating cur rent in the pot base .
Operation GB 23 Cookware for induction hobs Cookware for i nduction cooki ng zones must be made of metal and have magnetic pr operties. The base must be suffici ently large.
24 Operation GB Operating the keys The controls described her e expect the pressing of a (selection) key to be followed by the pressing of a subsequent ke y. The next key will n eed to be pressed within 10 secon ds , otherwise the selection will be deleted.
Operation GB 25 Locking The lock can be used to lock key operation and cooking level settings. Only the off key can be used t o switch the h ob off. Activating the lock (while cooking): 1. Press the Lock key to activat e functio n. The cont rol lamp above the lock key will light up.
26 Operation GB Automatic switch-off (timer) The automatic switch- off device is used to automaticall y switch off any cooking zone after a sti pulated period of time. Cooking ti mes ranging from 1 minute to 99 minutes can be set. 1. Switch on the hob.
Operation GB 27 Automatic boost function Parboiling take s place at powe r level 9 with the automatic boost function. After a certa in time the power level wil l switch down aut omatically to a l ower simmering sett ing (1 t o 8).
28 Operation GB Power boost setting ( cooking zones marked with a P) The power boost setting makes additional power avail able for induction cooking zones. A large quantity of wat er can be brought to the boil ver y quickly. The power boost sett ing operate s for 10 minutes, after which t he power level is automatically reduced to cooking l evel 9.
