7 INST ALLA TION Installing auxiliary plate Installing the auxiliar y plate using the notch in the tool’ s base and secure it by tightening the he x bolt. Bench mounting When the tool is shipped, the handle is lock ed in the lowered position by the stopper pin.
8 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION CA UTION: • Alwa ys be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged bef ore adjusting or checking function on the tool. Blade guard When lowering the handle, the b lade guard rises automati- cally . The guard is spring loaded so it retur ns to its original position when the cut is completed and the handle is raised.
9 Ker f b o ard This tool is provided with the k erf board in the tur n base to minimize tearing on the e xit side of a cut. If the kerf groov e has not yet been cut in the k erf board by the f actor y , you should cut the groov e bef ore actually using the tool to cut a workpiece.
10 • After changing the miter angle, alwa ys secure the turn base by tightening the g r ip fir mly . Adjusting the bevel angle T o adjust the bev el angle, loosen the lev er at the rear of the tool counterclockwise . Push the handle to the left to tilt the saw b lade until the pointer points to the desired angle on the be vel scale.
11 W ARNING: • NEVER use tool without a fully operativ e switch trigger . Any tool with an inoperativ e switch is HIGHL Y D ANGEROUS and must be repaired bef ore fur ther usage. • F or your saf ety , this tool is equipped with a lock-off button which pre vents the tool from unintended starting.
12 T o remove the b lade, use the sock et wrench to loosen the he x bolt holding the center cover b y tur ning it counterclock- wise. Raise the b lade guard and center cover . Press the shaft lock to loc k the spindle and use the socket wrench to loosen the he x bolt clockwise.
13 Dust bag The use of the dust bag makes cutting operations clean and dust collection easy . T o attach the dust bag, fit it onto the dust nozzle. When the dust bag is about half full, remov e the dust bag from the tool and pull the f astener out.
14 CA UTION: • When perf or ming left bev el cuts, flip the fence o ver to the left position as shown in the figure . Otherwise, it will contact the blade or a part of the tool, causing possible serious injur y to the operator .
15 the projection ma y stop at an angle. In this case, turn the vise knob back countercloc kwise until the screw is released, bef ore tur ning again gently clockwise. The maximum width of the workpiece which can be secured by the horizontal vise is 130 mm (5 - 1/8 ” ).
16 • Do not apply e xcessive pressure on the handle when cutting. T oo much force ma y result in ov erload of the motor and/or decreased cutting efficiency . Push down handle with only as much f orce as is necessar y for smooth cutting and without significant decrease in blade speed.
17 • During a bev el cut, it may create a condition whereb y the piece cut off will come to rest against the side of the blade . If the blade is raised while the b lade is still rotating, this piece ma y be caught by the blade , causing fragments to be scattered which is dangerous.
18 There are crown and co ve molding joints which are made to fit “ Inside ” 90 ° corners ((1) and (2) in Fig. A) and “ Outside ” 90 ° corners ((3) and (4) in Fig. A). Measuring Measure the wall length and adjust workpiece on tab le to cut wall contact edge to desired length.

21 Crown molding stoppers (optional accessories) allow easier cuts of crown molding without tilting the sa w blade . Install them on the base as shown in the figures. P osition crown molding with its W ALL CONT A CT EDGE against the guide f ence and its CEILING CONT A CT EDGE against the crown molding stoppers as sho wn in the figure.
22 CA UTION: • Use straight wood of e ven thic kness as the wood f acing. • Use screws to attach the wood f acing to the guide f ence. The screws should be installed so that the scre w heads are below the surf ace of the wood f acing. • When the wood f acing is attached, do not tur n the tur n base with the handle lowered.
23 Carrying tool Make sure that the tool is unplugged. Secure the b lade at 0 ° be vel angle and the turn base at r ight miter angle fully . Lower the handle fully and lock it in the lo wered position by pushing in the stopper pin. Carr y the tool by carrying grip as shown in the figure.
24 Lower the handle fully and loc k it in the lowered position by pushing in the stopper pin. Square the side of the blade with the f ace of the guide f ence using a tr iangular rule, try-square, etc. Then securely tighten the hex bolts on the guide f ence in the order from the r ight side.
25 (2) 45 ° be vel angle Adjust the 45 ° be vel angle only after perf or ming 0 ° be vel angle adjustment. T o adjust left 45 ° bev el angle, loosen the le ver and tilt the b lade to the left fully . Make sure that the pointer on the arm points to 45 ° on the be vel scale on the arm.
