8 • If you try to charge a batter y car tridge from a just operated tool, sometimes the charging light will not come on. If this occurs, let the car tridge cool off f or a while.
9 Electric brake This tool is equipped with an electric brake . If the tool consis- tently f ails to quickly stop after s witch tr igger release, ha ve tool ser viced at a Makita service center . Rever sing switch action This tool has a re versing s witch to change the direction of rotation.
10 Adjusting the fastening torque The f astening torque can be adjusted in 6 steps by tur ning the adjusting ring so that its graduations are aligned with the pointer on the tool body . The fastening torque is minimum when the number 1 is aligned with the pointer , and maximum when the marking is aligned with the pointer .
11 Place the point of the driver bit in the scre w head and apply pressure to the tool. Star t the tool slowly and then increase the speed gradually . Release the s witch tr igger as soon as the clutch cuts in. NO TE: • Make sure that the driv er bit is inser ted straight in the screw head, or the scre w and/or bit may be damaged.
12 • There is a tremendous f orce ex er ted on the tool/bit at the time of hole break through. Hold the tool fir mly and e x er t care when the bit begins to break through the workpiece. • A stuck bit can be remo ved simply b y setting the re versing s witch to rev erse rotation in order to back out.
