3 4. Keep Children A way Do not let visitors contact saw . All visitors should be kept awa y from work area. 5. Store Idle Saw When not in use, saws should be stored in a dry , and high or locked-up place - out of the reach of children. When storing saw , use a scabbard or carrying case.

7 9. Do not operate charger with damaged cord or plug - replace them immediatel y . 10. Do not operate charger if it has received a sharp blow , been dropped, or otherwise damaged in any wa y; take it to a qualified serviceman.
8 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION CA UTION: • Alwa ys make sure that the tool is s witched off and the batter y cartr idge is remov ed bef ore adjusting or checking function on the tool. Installing or removing battery cartridge • Alwa ys switch off the tool bef ore inser tion or remov al of the batter y cartr idge.
9 NO TE: • The batter y charger is f or charging Makita batter y car tridge. Ne ver use it f or other pur poses or f or other manuf acturer ’ s batteries. • When you charge a ne w batter y car tridge or a batter y car tridge which has not been used for a long period of time, it ma y not accept a full charge.
10 Switch action CA UTION: • Bef ore inser ting the batter y car tridge into the tool, alwa ys check to see that the s witch trigger actuates properly and retur ns to the “ OFF ” position when released. T o prev ent the switch trigger from being accidentally pulled, a lock-off b utton is provided.
11 While pushing the guide bar against the tool, slide the bar tow ards the sprocket till it stops . Keeping the guide bar in the position, tighten the bolt to secure the guide bar fo r easy saw chain replacement. Remov e the saw chain b y disengaging it from the sprock et.
12 NO TE: • A fresh saw chain is apt to become loose on the guide bar . Theref ore, it is recommended to check the sa w chain tension occasionally while it is fresh. A poorly strained saw chain can slip off the guide bar . K eep saw waste , dust or dir t aw ay from the place where you will install/remo ve sa w chain or adjust saw chain tension.
13 While pushing the guide bar against the tool, slide the bar tow ards the sprocket till it stops . And then tighten the bolt firmly . OPERA TION CA UTION: • K eep all par ts of the body aw ay from the sa w chain when the motor is running. • Hold the saw firmly with both hands when the motor is running.
14 • Do not continue operation an y longer when the first batter y gets empty because contin uous operation using more than a batter y will result in a b ur nt motor . • Be sure to keep the b umper in contact with the workpiece till a cut is finished.
15 MAINTENANCE CA UTION: • Alwa ys be sure that the tool is switched off and the batter y cartr idge is remov ed before attempting to perf or m inspection or maintenance.
16 Call your nearest Makita Service Center or Distributor to determine the location that provides Makita batter y recycling. See your local Y ellow P ages under “T ools-Electric”.
