6 A TT ACHING THE HANDL EBAR DANGER: T o av oid s erious injury, the barrier por tion of the handlebar must be installed as s how n to prov ide a bar rier betw een operat or and the s pinning bl ade. 1. Remove the s c rew at the rear of the throttle handle.

8 NOTE: Remov e the t rimmer hea d and pla st ic shiel d before a ttac hing the meta l shield and inst alling the w eed blade. T o remov e the trimmer head, align hole in th e dust c up wi th the hole in the s ide of the gear box by ro tating the dust cup.

13 CLEAN AIR FIL TER A dirty air filt er decr eases engine perform- ance and inc reas es f uel c ons umption and harmful emis sions . Alw ay s c lean after ev ery 5 hours of operation. 1. Clean the cov er and the ar ea around it to keep dir t from f alling into the c arburet or chamber when the c over is r emoved.
14 Spool Cover 1 1. Mak e sur e the lines are not c aught be- tween the rim of the spool and the w all of the cov er . 12. Reins tall the spool and cov er onto the trimmer head.
