17 S CANNER O PERATION Sweet Spot Mode The sweet spot mod e is used to determine where the maximum read rate area or “sweet spot” is located for a specific bar code type. When activated this mode provides visual and audi ble feedback indicating ho w the scanner is scanning.
18 S CANNER O PERATION Audible Indicators When the IS3480 is in operati on, it can provide audible feedback. T hese sounds indicate the status of the scanner. Eight settings are availab le for the tone of the beep (normal, 6 alternate tones and no tone).
19 S CANNER O PERATION Visual Indicators There are four LEDs locat ed on the top of the IS3480. When the scanner i s on, the flashing or constant il luminatio n of the LEDs indi cates the status of the current scan and the scanner. No LEDs The LEDs will not be illumi nated if the scanner is not receivi ng power from the host or transformer.
20 S CANNER O PERATION Failure Mode Indicators Flashing Blue a nd One Razzberry Tone This indicates that the scanner has experien ced a laser subsystem failure. Return the unit to an authoriz ed service center for repair. Flashing Blu e and White and Tw o R az z b e rr y Tones This indicates that the scanner has experien ced a motor failure.
