IMPORT ANT SAFETY INS TRUCTIONS 6 Correct use This dishwashe r is intended for use in domestic households and similar residential envir onments. This dishwasher is not suitable for outdoor use. It must only be used as specified in these oper ating instructions for cleaning domestic dishware and cutlery .

IMPORT ANT SAFETY INS TRUCTIONS 11 Pr oper installation The dishwasher must be install ed and connected in compliance with the installation plan. Be car eful when installing the dishwasher . Wear pr otective gloves to avoid injury on any sharp metal components.

Dishwasher deter gents contain irritant or corrosive ingr edients which can cause burning in the nose, mouth, and throat if swallowed, or inhibit br eathing.
IMPORT ANT SAFETY INS TRUCTIONS 13 In an app liance with a cutlery basket (depending on model), cut‐ lery is cleaned and dried more efficiently if placed in the basket with the handles downwards. However , to avoid the risk of injury, place knives and forks with the handles upwards.

Before using for the first time 17 Opening the door P ull the handle t o open the door . If the door is opened during operation, a ll functions are aut omatically interrupt‐ ed.
Before using for the first time 18 W ater softener In order t o achieve good cleaning re‐ sults, the dishwasher needs t o oper ate with soft water . Hard water r esults in a build-up of calcium deposits on dish‐ ware and in the dishwasher . Wat er supplies with a hardness level higher than 4 gr/gal (4 °d) needs to be softened.
Before using for the first time 19 Displaying and setting the water har dness level Open the door . T urn the dishwasher off with the button, if it is turned on. Pr ess the progr am selection button , and, simultaneously switch the dishwasher on using the button.

Before using for the first time 21 Before using the appliance for the first tim e, you require: – Appro x. 1 liter (1 qt.) of water – Appro x. 2 lbs (1 kg) of dishwasher salt – Domestic dishwasher deter gent – Rinse aid formulated for domestic dishwashers Every dishwasher is test ed at the fac‐ t ory .
Before using for the first time 22 Filling the salt reservoir Before filling the salt r eservoir with dishwasher salt for the first time, you must fill it with appro x. 1 liter (1 qt.) of water to enable the salt t o dis‐ solve. Once the dishwasher has been used for the first time, ther e is always suf‐ ficient water in the r eservoir .
Before using for the first time 23 Salt refill indicator Fi ll the salt reservoir with dishwasher salt when the Salt indica tor light comes on (If it comes on during a progr am, wait until the end of the progr am).
Before using for the first time 24 Rinse aid Rinse aid is needed to pr event spotting on dishes and glassware. The rinse aid is filled in the reservoir and the set amount will be automatically dosed. Filli ng the rinse aid reservoir with deter gent will damage the reservoir .
Before using for the first time 25 Rinse aid indicator When the Rinse Aid indicat or lights up, the rinse aid reservoir contains suffi‐ cient rinse aid for 2 - 3 progr ams only .
L oading the dishwasher 26 Tips Remove coarse food residues fr om the dishwar e. There is no need t o rinse items under runni ng water! Do not wash it ems soiled with ash, sand, wax, grease, or paint in the dishwasher . These will damage the dishwasher .
L oading the dishwasher 27 Items not recommended for dish‐ washing – Wooden cutlery, cutting boar ds and dishwar e or it ems with wooden parts – Craft it ems, antiques, valuable vases, and decor ative glasswar e – Plastic items which ar e not heat-re‐ sistan t: the high temper atures in the dishwasher may cause them to melt or lose shape.

L oading the dishwasher 29 Upper basket F or safety reasons, do not oper‐ ate the dishwasher without the upper and lower baskets in place. Use the upper bask et for small, light‐ weight and delicate items such as cups, saucers, glasses, dessert bowls, etc.
L oading the dishwasher 30 Adjusting the upper basket In order t o gain more space for taller it ems the upper basket can be adjust ed on three levels with 3/4" (2 cm) be‐ tween each level. The upper basket can also be set at an angle with one side high and the other side low .
L oading the dishwasher 31 Lower bask et F or larger and heavier items such as plates, serving platters, saucepans, bowls, etc. Glasses, cups and small items such as saucers can also be placed in the lower basket. Do not place thin, deli‐ cate glasswar e in the lower basket.
L oading the dishwasher 32 Comfort insert The comfort insert is used for cups, glasse s, plates, dishes, and pots. The comfort insert can be removed to mak e more r oom for larger items such as casserole dishes. The cup rack can be r aised to make more r oom for tall items.
L oading the dishwasher 33 Bottle holder (depending on model) The bottle holder can be used to wash narr ow it ems, e.g., milk and baby bot‐ tles. Place the bottle holder in the position shown in the bottom basket. If placed anywhere else, wat er will not be able to access the bottle pr op‐ erly, and cleaning results will be im‐ paired.
L oading the dishwasher 34 Cutlery Cutlery tray (depending on model) Arr ange the cutlery in the tr ay as shown. T o make unloading much easier , cutler y shou ld be grouped in zones, one for knives, one for forks, one for spoons, etc.
Operation 35 Detergent O nly use deter gents formulated for domestic dishwashers. Refer to the manufactur er's packaging as t o whether T ab products are suitable for the water har dness level in your area. Please note that the cleaning and dry‐ ing results of T ab detergents can vary greatly .
Operation 36 Adding detergent P r ess the opening catch on the de‐ ter gent dispenser . The flap will spring open. The flap is always open at the end of a pr ogr am.
Operation 37 T urning on T urn on the water supply if it is turned off. Open the door . Mak e sure the spr ay arms are not ob‐ structed. T urn the dishwasher on with the button. The indicator light ne xt to the progr am select ed will come on.
Operation 38 Starting a progr am S tart the progr am by closing the door within four seconds of the last press of a button. The progr am will begin.
Operation 39 Energy management T o save energy, the dishwasher will switch off aut omatically 10 minutes af‐ ter the last time a button has been pressed or 10 minut es after the end of the progr am (see "Options - Optimize Standby"). P r ess the button to switch the dishwasher back on.
Operation 40 T urning off At the end of a pr ogram: Open the door . The dishwasher can be switched off at any time using the button. T urning the dishwasher off during a pro‐ gr am st ops the progr am. T urning the dishwasher off during the run-u p to a delay start time (Fle xiT imer) will also stop the pr ocess.
Operation 41 Interrupting a progr am The progr am will be interrupted as soon as you open the door . After four seconds, the indicator light of the selected pr ogram and the time dis‐ play will flash. P r ess the progr am selection button and close the door within four sec‐ onds.
Options 42 Short The Short option reduces the dur ation of progr ams in which this option is available. In order t o achieve optimum cleaning r esults, consumption r ates ar e in‐ creased with this option.
Options 43 T urning off the refill indicat ors If you consistently use a T ab detergent, you can deactivate the r efill indicators if you wish. Open the door . T urn the dishwasher off with the button, if it is turned on. P r ess the progr am selection button , and, simultaneously switch the dishwasher on using the button.
Options 44 Delay Start Y ou can set the start time for a pro‐ gr am, e.g., t o take advantage of night time electricity rat es. The start time can be delayed between 30 minutes and 24 hours. The delay period is shown in 30 mi‐ nutes incr ements for a delay period be‐ tween 30 minutes and 9 hours 30 mi‐ nutes.
Options 45 Open the door if you need t o check how long the delay period has left to run. The time up until the progr am starts will count down in the display in hours for dur ations above 10 hours, and in mi‐ nutes for dur ations below 10 hours.
Options 46 Buzzer tones A sequence of audible tones will sound at the end of the pr ogr am or if there is a fault. The buzzer at the end of a pr ogram and the warning buzzer in the event of a fault will sound 4 times at intervals with a short pause between each set.
Options 47 Optimize Standby "Optimize Standby" is activat ed by de‐ fault. T o save energy, the dishwasher will switch off aut omatically a few minutes after the last time a button has been pressed or aft er the end of a progr am.
Options 48 F actor y default settings If you have alter ed any settings from the fact ory default, you can reset them back to the factory default settings as follows: Open the door . T urn the dishwasher off with the button, if it is turned on.

Cleaning and care 51 Cleaning the door front I f soiling remains longer , it may happen that the surfaces can be‐ come discolored or changed. Remove any soiling immediately . Cle an the front with a solution of warm water and a little dishwashing liquid applied with a soft sponge.
Cleaning and care 52 Filter system The filter system in the base of the wash cabinet pr events food fr om being redeposit ed on dishes. It also protects the circulation pump fr om damage caused by foreign objects. This dishwasher must not be u sed without all the filters in place! Collection of coarse soil may cause the filt ers to clog.
Cleaning and care 53 T o clean the inside of the filter , the flap must be opened: P r ess catches together in the di‐ rection of the arr ows as shown, and open the filter . Rin se all the filters under running wa‐ ter . Then close the flap so that the catch engages.
Cleaning and care 54 Cleaning the spray arms P articles of food can get stuck in the spr ay arm jets and b earings. The spray arms should therefor e be inspected and cleaned regularly (appr ox.

F requently Asked Questions 63 Problem P ossible cause and solution White residue is visible on dishware and cut‐ lery, clouding occurs on glassware; this film can be wiped off. The rinse aid dosage is too low . Incr ease the dosage (see "Befor e using for the first time - Rinse aid").
F requently asked questions 64 Cleaning the water intake A filter is incorpor ated in the screw con‐ nectio n of the water intake valve. The filter must be cleaned when dirty, other‐ wise insufficient water flows into the wash cabinet. The plastic hou sing of the water connection contains an electrical component.
F requently asked questions 65 Cleaning the drain pump and non -return valve If the water has not been pumped away at the end of a p rogr am, the drain pump or the non-return valve might be blocked. They are, however , easy to clean. T urn off the dishwasher and pull the plug.
