6 GETTING STARTED Thank you for purchasing the music hall mmf -5.1 turntable. The music hall mmf-5.1 turntable is a 2-speed, belt driven turntable wi th many singular features. It has an original and unique 2-plinth de sign with six viso -elastic cones separating the bottom platform from the top.
7 SET- UP The music hall mmf -5.1 is supplied partially disassembl ed and carefully packaged for safe transport. To assemble the turntable, please follow the instruction s carefully. 1. Clear a level (use a spirit level) and suitable workspace to assemble t he turntable.
8 1.75 g is between 17 and 18g on the scale (6a). To set the trac k ing force y ou mu st first balance (zero) the tonearm (9). The objective of balancing or zeroing the tonear m is to get the to nea r m to float parallel to the platter. First, lower the cueing lever (7).
9 12. Locate the anti-skating weight (16). You will notice a small fishing line attached to the anti-skat ing weight (16). Slip the looped end of the fishing line over the anti - skating rod (15) and into notch number 2 (See diagram below).
10 Move the tonearm (9) (adjusted for the correct trac k ing force of your cartr idge) to the pattern. W hen the stylus tip of the cartridge is at points 130 mm and 250mm, the front of the cartridge should be parallel t o the lines on the pattern. If necessary, slide the cartridge back and forth until the stylus tip is positioned correctly .
11 You may need to go back and forth a couple of times to achieve the bes t setting. Please note that small changes in azi m uth make a big difference in the sound. *Save all packing materials , parts, and screws for possible future t ransport * SITING FLOOR MOUNTING - Place the de ck on a small, light, rigid table, e.

14 TROUBLESHOOTING music hall turntables are manufactured to the highest sta nda rds and un dergo strict quality controls before leaving the factory. If, for so me reas on your turntable is not working properly, please take a few moments to review this list of potent ial causes.
15 Fit the sty lus gua rd on the cartridge and attach the to nea rm locking stra p (18 ) to the tonearm (9). Insert and tighten the t ranspo rt screws (1).
16 WARRANTY This entitles you to have the music hall mmf -5.1 repaired free of c harge, at our discretion, for one year after the dat e o f purchase, at any authoriz ed music hall service center, pr ovided the unit was purchased from an authoriz ed dealer.
