4- ENG A01787 WARNING: Risk of Bursting Air T ank: The following conditions could lead to a weakening of the tank, and result in a violent tank explosion and could cause property damage or serious injury .
5- ENG A01787 WARNING: Risk to Br eathing WARNING: Risk of Electrical Shock HAZARD HAZARD Y our air compressor is powered by electricity . Like any other electrically powered device, If it is not used properly it may cause electric shock. Repairs attempted by unqualified personnel can result in serious injury or death by electrocution.
6- ENG A01787 WARNING: Risk of Burns T ouching exposed metal such as the compressor head or outlet tubes, can result in serious burns. Never touch any exposed metal parts on compressor during or immediately after operation. Compressor will r emain hot for several minutes after operation.
7- ENG A01787 Review and understand all instructions and war nings in this manual. Become familiar with the operation and controls of the air compr essor . Keep operating area clear of all persons, pets, and obstacles. Keep children away fr om the air compressor at all times .
8- ENG A01787 GLOSSAR Y Become familiar with these terms before operating the unit. CFM : Cubic feet per minute. SCFM: Standard cubic feet per minute; a unit of measur e of air delivery . PSIG: Pounds per square inch gauge; a unit of measur e of pressur e.
9- ENG A01787 INST ALLA TION HOW TO SET UP YOUR UNIT GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK. In the event of a short circuit, gr ounding reduces the risk of shock by pr oviding an escape wire for the electric curr ent. This air compressor must be properly gr ounded.
10- ENG A01787 Extension Cords Using extension cords is not r ecommended. The use of extension cords will cause voltage to drop r esulting in power loss to the motor and overheating. Instead of using an extension cord, incr ease the working reach of the air hose by attaching another length of hose to its end.
11- ENG A01787 Description of Operation Become familiar with these controls befor e operating the unit. On/Auto/Off Switch (A) : T ur n this switch ON to provide automatic power to the pressur e switch and OFF to remove power at the end of each use.
12- ENG A01787 Cooling System (not shown) : This compressor contains an advanced design cooling system. At the heart of this cooling system is an engineered fan. It is perfectly normal for this fan to blow air through the vent holes in lar ge amounts.
Before Starting Break-in instructions Serious damage may result if the following br eak-in instructions are not closely followed. This procedur e is requir ed before the air compr essor is put into service and when the check valve or a complete compressor pump has been r eplaced.
How to Use Remote Console: When needed the remote console allows r emote air regulation and control closer to the work ar ea. Reduce air pressur e in tank to 60 psi maximum before removing or connecting portable contr ol panel and when connecting hose to tank quick-connect coupler .
15- ENG A01787 How to transport unit The unit has a handle (a) for carrying and a handle (b) for pulling. 1. Grasp carrying handle (a) to lift unit. 2. Slide handle (b) out until it locks into place. 3. Pull unit as shown, do not push unit. NOTE: When transporting do not lift the unit to the point where it would tip over backwar ds.

17- ENG A01787 Air Compressor Pump Intake and Exhaust V alves Once a year have a T rained Service T echnician check the air compressor pump intake and exhaust valves. Air Filter Inspection and Replacement Hot surfaces. Risk of burn. Compressor heads are exposed when filter cover is removed.
18- ENG A01787 T o Replace or Clean Check V alve 1. Release all air pressur e from air tank. See "T o Drain T ank" in the Maintenance section. 2. Unplug outfit. NOTE: If needed the top panel may be removed to make parts accessible. 3. Using an adjustable wrench loosen outlet tube nut at air tank and pump.
19- ENG A01787 STORAGE Before you stor e the air compressor , make sure you do the following: 1. Review the "Maintenance" section on the preceding pages and perform scheduled maintenance as necessary . 2. Set the On/Auto/Off lever to "OFF".
20- ENG A01787 TROUBLESHOOTING Performing repairs may expose voltage sour ces, moving parts or compressed air sour ces, moving parts or compressed air sour ces. Personal injury may occur . Prior to attempting any repairs, unplug the air compr essor and bleed off all air tank air pressur e.
21- ENG A01787 PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION It is normal for "some" pressur e drop to occur . If there is an excessive amount of pressur e drop when the accessory is used, adjust the regulator following the instructions in the "Description of Operation" paragraph in the "Operation Section.
22- ENG A01787 Regulator will not shut off air outlet. Damaged regulator . Replace. PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION Motor will not run. Fuse blown, circuit br eaker tripped.
