Never operate unit in enclosed areas such as garages, basements, storage, sheds, or in any location occupied by humans or animals.
8 — ENG HAZARD HOW TO PREVENT IT WHA T COULD HAPPEN During operation, touch only the con- trol surfaces of the generator . Keep children away fr om the generator at all times. They may not be able to recog- nize the hazards of this pr oduct. Contact with hot surfaces, such as en- gines exhaust components, could result in serious burns.
9 — ENG RISK FROM LIFTING HAZARD HOW TO PREVENT IT WHA T COULD HAPPEN The generator is too heavy to be lifted by one person. Obtain assis- tance from others befor e you try to move it. Serious injury can result fr om attempt- ing to lift too heavy an object.

2. Connect black negative cable to negative (-) battery post. Tighten securely . NOTE: Make sure rubber boot is covering positive (+) battery terminal. NOTE: If battery needs to be charged, follow these instructions. When charging the battery , do not smoke.

14 — ENG BEFORE ST AR T UP This generator has been shipped from the factory without oil in the crankcase. Operating the unit without oil can damage the engine. Always check engine oil level before every start. Running engine low of oil or out of oil could result in serious damage to the engine.
15 — ENG STOPPING ENGINE 1. Disconnect all electrical loads. 2. T ur n OFF/RUN/ST ART switch to "OFF" position. 3. Close fuel shut-off valve. CONNECTING ELECTRICAL LOADS 1. Let engine run and warm up for five minutes after starting with no electrical load.
16 — ENG 16 — ENG MAINTENANCE GENERAL RECOMMENDA TIONS The warranty of the generator does not cover items that have been subjected to operator abuse or negligence. T o receive full value from the warranty , operator must maintain the generator as instructed in this manual.
17 — ENG STORAGE If you are going to stor e your generator for more than 30 days, use the following information as a guide to prepar e the generator for storage.
18 — ENG Never exceed the rated capacity of your generator . Serious damage to the generator or appliance could result from an overload. 1. Starting and running wattage requir ements should always be calculated when matching a generators wattage capacity to the appliance or tool.
19 — ENG ST AR TING W A TT AGE REQUIREMENTS 1. Some appliances and tools will list on the motor name plate the starting and running voltage and amperage requir ements. Use the following formula to convert voltage and amperage to wattage: V olts X Amp = W atts 120 volts x 10 amps = 1200 watts 2.
