5 Fuse Requirements Y ou will need to install an in-line fuse or circuit break er in the pow er wire within 18” of the batter y . This fuse or circuit break er is to protect y our v ehicle from fire in case the po wer wire shor ts to the v ehicle body .
AMPLIFIER ST A TUS LEDS The LEDs provide the f ollowing indications: 1. P ower - These LEDs illuminates the center Precision P o wer logo bac kground when the amplifier po wer is turned on. 2. Shor t - These LEDs behind the PPI logo will flash to indicate a shor t on the output.
T OOLS/P ARTS FOR INST ALLA TION NO TE: T OOLS ARE NO T SUPPLIED . Small flat b lade scre wdriver Phillips scre wdriver (#2 or medium siz ed) Wire cutters Wire strippers 4 - #6 round head scre ws, and 1 - #8 sheet metal scre w .
Note: The cables running from the battery to the rear of the car should be installed on the side of the car opposite to the antenna. When using 16 gauge wire or larger , run the speaker wires from the amplifier location through the v ehicle to the speak ers .
Note: The amplifier comes with the connector inser ted into the amplifier with the wire c lamping screws in the up position as shown belo w . Use a 2mm hex head wrenc h to secure the wires to the connector . If the connector needs to be unplug ged from the amplifier , use a 2.
wires as close together as possib le, and use the same gauge wire f or both. This will ensure that y ou ha v e a good g round path, and ma y eliminate such potential prob lems as engine noise and ov erheated amplifiers.
1300W = 108 Amps total current dra w 12V If the same amplifier is driven into a 2 ohm load, doub le it’ s 4 ohm RMS rating. These amplifiers will eff ectively doub le their po w er at this load.
PO WER LOCK CONNECT ORS Once y ou ha v e run both the power and g round wires , then connect the cab les to the amplifier . Cut off e xcess wire, and using wire strippers, strip the ends of the power and g round cab les appro ximately 1/4 inch. Locate the Po w e r Loc k TM pow er and ground connector (supplied).
FR ONT PLA TE DIA GRAMS 1. Cooling Plenums: Maintain a minim um 2” clearance around cooling plenums f or proper amplifier cooling. 2. Speaker/Remote Connector: The P ower Loc k TM speak er connector . 3. Output Freq. Control: Use this control to adjust the sub bass output signal crossov er frequency from 30Hz to 4kHz.
12. -12dB Input Atten uation: Push this s witch ‘IN’ f or high voltage (4V -12V) capability . This button pushed ‘IN’ must be used f or speak er le v el input on common ground head-units or f or high v oltage line drivers . 13. Phase: These s witch sets the phase of the output relativ e to the amplifier input.
4. Cooling Plen ums: Maintain a minimum 2” clearance around cooling plenums f or proper amplifier cooling. INPUTS There are two sets of RCA jac ks on the front end of y our amplifier . The RCA cab les from y our source unit go in the set labeled INPUTS .
QB ASS PLUS SPECIFICA TIONS QB ASS PLUS TM Up to 18dB of boost with selectab le center frequency at 30Hz, 36Hz, 44Hz or 60Hz, with a Q-f actor of 2. Optional QB ASS REMO TE TM This boost control can be mounted in the dash and will supersede the boost control on the amplifier endplate.
QB ASS PLUS/QB ASS REMO TE On these amplifiers, w e’v e tak en bass control to a higher le vel with QB ASS PLUS TM . The two QB ASS TM s witches (labeled 1 and 2) on the front end of the amplifier allow y ou to select one of four frequency centers 30Hz, 36Hz, 44Hz and 60Hz.
TC-X CR OSSO VER Y our ne w amplifier has a TC-X Crossov er (T otal Control X-ov er ® ) 30Hz-4kHz (see this guide f or Crosso v er Char t).12dB per octa v e phase correlated crossov er built-in to pro vide superior system fle xibility without the added e xpense and installation of an outboard crossov er .

ADJUSTING INPUT GAIN 1. Adjust all amplifier input gain controls to just abov e minimum sensitivity (fully countercloc kwise). 2. Using the cleanest music source (CD) pla ying, tur n up the head unit source v olume until y ou can hear distor tion. No w tur n it do wn a bit until y ou cannot hear the distor tion (usually just below full v olume).
