The power chai r you have purchased combines state-of-the-art components with safety , comfort, and styling in mind. We are conf ident that these design features will provide you with the conveniences you expect during your daily activities.

Jazzy Sport 2 www.pridemobility.com 7 III. YOUR POWER CHAIR THE JAZZY SPORT 2 POWER CHAIR The Jazzy Sport 2 Power Chair has tw o main assemblies: the seat assemb ly and the power base assembly. See figure 1. Typically, the seat assembly incl udes the armrests, seatba ck, and seat base.

10 www.pridemobility.com Jazzy Sport 2 FREEWHEEL LEVERS FREEWHEEL LEVERS Manual Freewheel Levers Your power chair has a manual freewh eel lever on each motor. Manual freewheel levers enable you to disengage the drive motors from the gearboxe s and maneuver the chair manually.
Jazzy Sport 2 www.pridemobility.com 11 Seat Installation It may be necessary to install the seat either prior to initial operation or after transporting your power chair. WARNING! Do not pick up the seat frame by the armrests. They are free to pivot, and you may lose control of the seat if they do so.
12 www.pridemobility.com Jazzy Sport 2 SEAT SEAT POST CONTROLLER CONNECTOR SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT BOLT COMFORT ADJUSTMENTS After becoming familiar with your pow er chair’s operati on, you may find the need to make some adjustments to increase your comfort, such as seat he ight, armrest angle, foot platform angle, and controller position.
Jazzy Sport 2 www.pridemobility.com 13 Manual Recline Seatback Adjustment If your power chair is equi pped with a manual recline seatback, you can adjust the seatback angle with the seatback release lever. The lever is located on the right side of the seat base.

Jazzy Sport 2 www.pridemobility.com 17 BATTERIES AND CHARGING Your power chair uses two l ong-lasting, 12-volt, deep-cycle batteries. Th ese batteries are seal ed and maintenance free. Since they are sealed, there is no need to check the electrolyte (fluid) le vel.
18 www.pridemobility.com Jazzy Sport 2 To charge the batteries us ing the off-board charger: 1. Position the front of your power chair next to a stan- dard electrical outlet. See figure 15. 2. Be certain the controller power is turned off and the freewheel levers a re in the engaged position.
Jazzy Sport 2 www.pridemobility.com 19 Daily Use If you use your power chair on a daily basis, charge the batteri es as soon as you are finished using your power chair. Your power chair will be re ady each morning to give you a full day’s service.
20 www.pridemobility.com Jazzy Sport 2 VI. BATTERIES AND CHARGING How can I ensure maximum battery life? A fully charged deep-cycle battery will provide reliabl e performance and extended ba ttery life. Keep your power chair’s batteries fully charged whenever possible.
Jazzy Sport 2 www.pridemobility.com 21 CARE AND MAINTENANCE Your Jazzy Sport 2 is a sophisticated power chair. Like any motorized vehi cle, it requires routine maintenance checks. You can perform some of these checks, but others require assistance from an aut horized service represen- tative.
22 www.pridemobility.com Jazzy Sport 2 VII. CARE AND MAINTENANCE All wheel bearings are prelubr icated and sealed. They requi re no subsequent lubrication. The body shroud has been spra yed with a clear sealant coating. You ca n apply a light coat of car wax to help it retain its high-gloss appearance.
Jazzy Sport 2 www.pridemobility.com 23 Storage Your power chair should be stored in a dry place, free from temperature ex tremes. When storing, disconnect the batteries from the power chair. See VI. “Batteries and Charging.” WARNING! If you fail to store the uni t properly, the frame can rust and the electronics can be damaged.
24 www.pridemobility.com Jazzy Sport 2 8. Reinstall the drive wheel nut and washer onto the ax le and tighten. See figure 16. WARNING! Make sure both the nut and the was her are reinstalled and tightened properly. 9. Remove the power chair from the base support.

Remove the shipping guard if applicable. See figure 17. 6. Disconnect the battery cables from th e battery terminal s of each battery.
