6 ENGLISH Installing batteries 1. Apply thumb pressure to slide the battery compartment cover , then remove the cover . 2. Insert t wo “ AAA ” batteries (not included) following the polarity marks in the battery compar tment. 3. Reinstall the cover .

11 Setting date and time Basic operations With the date and time set, you can alwa ys view the date and time of your recordings . Normal recording is still possible without setting the date and time . However , no correct recording date and time can be r eferenced in y our recorded messages.
12 ENGLISH Accessing Rec orded F ile I nformation While in stop mode, press and hold MENU butt on to display recor ded file information such as, date of r ecording, time of r ecording , recording mode , and record quality . Recording 1. While in stop mode, press REC•P A USE button to start recording.
13 • Y ou may slide the Dict/Conf switch during recording. Ho wever , you selection will only be effective starting from the next recording . • For c onferences , to obtain optimum recor ding quality, plac e the recorder with the microphone fr eely exposed to the sound source as close as convenient.
14 ENGLISH • The GROCERIES folder is defaulted to the A UTO-APPEND ON mode. The NOTES and F AMIL Y folders are defaulted to A UTO- APPEND OFF mode. See Settings Section to enable AUTO-APPEND for NO TES and F AMIL Y folder .
15 Accessing Settings menu 1. While in stop mode, press MENU to ac cess the Settings menu. 2. Press / to select S ettings and press PLA Y•P A USE button to confirm selection . 3. Press / to highlight the desired item, then press PLA Y•P AUSE button to select that item.
