37 _ Loading originals and print media CHANGING THE SIZE OF THE PAPER IN THE PAPER TRAY To load longer sizes of paper, such as Legal-sized pape r, you need to adjust the paper guides to extend the paper tray. 1. Adjust the paper length guide to the desired paper length.

39 _ Loading originals and print media In the multi-purp ose tray The multi-purpose tray can hold special sizes and types of prin t material, such as postcards, note cards, and envelop es. It is useful for single page printing on lette rhead or colored paper.

73 _ Using USB memory device SCANNING TO AN US B MEMORY DEVICE You can scan a document an d save the scanned image onto a USB memory device. When you scan a document, the machine uses th e default settings such as the resolution. Y ou can also customize your own scan setting.

95 _ Maintenance Cleaning the outside Clean the machine cabinet with a soft lint-free cloth. You can dampen the cloth slightly with water, b ut be careful not to le t any water drip onto or into the machine. Cleaning the inside Contact a service representative to clean the inside of the machine.
Maintenance _9 6 Handling instructions • Do not touch the surface of the pho tosensitive drum in the cartridge . • Do not expose the cartridge to un necessary vibrations or sho ck. • Never manually rotate the d rum, especially in the reverse direction; th is can cause internal damage and toner spillage.
