2 Safety Instructions 1 Before connecting the AC power cord to the DC adapter outlet, make sure the voltage designation of the DC adapter corresponds to the local electrical supply . 2 Never insert anything metallic into the openings in the cabinet of the fl at panel display (FPD) monitor; doing so may create the danger of electric shock.
3 English Please make sure the following items are included with your monitor . If any items are missing, contact your dealer . † Y our monitor may come equipped with one of five different stands, or none at all, according to the option you selected at the time of purchase.
4 Setting up an Ergonomic W orkstation Consider the advice given below before you install your monitor . Monitor location Choose a position that exposes you monitor to the least reflection from lights or windows, usually at a right angle to any window .
5 English Connecting Y our FPD Monitor Figure 3.1 Cable connections (Analog) 1 T urn off your computer and unplug its power cord. 2 Connect the signal cable to the 15-pin, D-sub connector on the back of your monitor . 3 Connect the signal cable to the video port on your computer , video board, video card, or graphics card.

7 English Connecting Y our Multimedia FPD Monitor Figure 4. Multimedia connections 1 Follow steps 1 through 3 on the previous page. 2 If you have a Multimedia or Multimedia Pivot stand, connect the attached power adapter jack (A) to the DC power port on the back of your monitor .
8 Plug and Play Our adoption of the new VESA ® Plug and Play solution eliminates complicated and time consuming setup. It allows you to install your monitor in a Plug and Play compatible system without the usual hassles and confusion. Y our PC system can easily identify and configure itself for use with your display .
9 English Windows ® 95 T o determine the version of Windows ® 95 that your computer uses, right click on the “My Computer” icon on the Windows desktop and select “Properties”. The version number can be seen on the “General” section under “System:”.
10 If the monitor is functioning properly , you will see a white box with a red border and black text inside as shown in the following illustration: Figure 5. Monitor self test screen The three boxes inside the border are red, green and blue. Failure of any of the boxes to appear indicates a problem with your monitor .
11 English User Controls Y our flat panel display allows you to easily adjust the characteristics of the image being displayed. All of these adjustments are made using the control buttons on the front of the monitor . While you use these buttons to adjust the controls, an on-screen menu shows you their numeric values as they change.
12 Automatic Save Whenever you open the on-screen menu and allow an adjustment window to remain active for about 3 seconds without pressing another button, the monitor automatically saves any adjustments you have made. These changes are saved into a user area in the monitor .
13 English OSM Lock/Unlock Use this function to secure the current settings so that they cannot inadvertently be changed, while still allowing you to adjust Brightness and Contrast. Y ou can unlock the OSM controls at any time by using the same procedure as described below .
14 Accessing the menu system 1 With the OSM off, push the MENU button to open it and display the main function menu. 2 Use the “ – ” and “ + ” buttons to move between the function icons. As you move from one icon to another , the function name changes to reflect the function or group of functions represented by that icon.
15 English Image Lock: Image Lock controls adjust for and limit the amount of noise in the video signal which causes horizontal lines or areas on the screen where the image appears to be unstable and jitters or shimmers. ■ Fine ■ Coarse The Fine and Coarse adjustments allow you to more closely adjust your monitor to your preference.
16 Reset Restores the viewing area and color settings to their original manufacturing levels ■ Geometry Reset Resets the H-Position and V-Position of the viewing area ■ Color Reset Resets the Brig.
17 English Language: ■ English ■ Deutsch ■ Español ■ Français ■ Italiano ■ Svenka Language sets the OSM to display in one of five languages. The language chosen affects only the language of the OSM. It has no effect on any software running on the computer .
18 Display Mode This screen shows the horizontal and vertical frequencies, sync polarity and the display resolution of the images received from the computer or video card.
19 English Audio Controls Figure 8. Multimedia stand audio controls T o access the On/Off, Volume, Bass and T reble functions, rotate the appropriate control button to the right or left to adjust the function.
20 PowerSaver This monitor has a built-in power management system called PowerSaver . This system saves energy by switching your monitor into a low-power mode when it has not been used for a certain amount of time. The available modes are “On”, “Standby”, “Sleep”, and “Deep Sleep”.
21 English T roubleshooting If you have a problem setting up or using your FPD monitor , you may be able to solve it yourself. Before contacting customer service, try the suggested actions that are appropriate to your problem. T able 5. T roubleshooting problems – Image What you see.

29 English Changing the Base Removing the base 1 T urn off your monitor and unplug its power cord. 2 Lay the LCD monitor face-down on a flat surface with a cushion beneath it to protect the screen. 3 Remove the four screws and then remove the Stand from the LCD monitor .
30 Attaching a base NOTE: This monitor accepts a 75mm x 75mm VESA-compliant mounting interface pad . 1 Align the Mounting Interface Pad with the holes in the Rear Cover Mounting Pad and secure it with the four screws that came with the arm-type base, wall mount hanger or other base.
