In addition to the cord less handset that is incl uded with the fax machine, up to five other cordless handsets can used with the f ax machine. The additional cordless handsets must suppor t the DECT/GAP standard.

12 Cordless handset Displa y This displays messages and prompts to help you use the cordless handset. key Press and then or to scroll through the most recent calls made and received on the cordless handset (received calls will only appear if you hav e Caller ID).
13 key Press this ke y to end a call. T o turn off the power of the cordless handset, hold down this k ey until the displa y goes blank. key Use this ke y to clear an entry , or to mov e back to the pre vious lev el in the settings. Press this k ey during a call to put the other par t y on hold.

This indicates that the cordless han ds et ringe r (and the b eeps that sound when ke ys are pressed) are turne d off (silent ring). This appears when is pressed on the cordless handset, and blinks when a call comes in.

Installation Reinforced concrete Metal Aluminum sash T alking range The talking range of the cordless handset is approximately 200 m (line of sight; talking range may decrease depending on transmission conditions). If you hear noise or interf erence while talking on the cordless handset, move closer to the fax machine .
Loading th e Imaging F ilm 24 Loading the Imaging Film Y our fax uses a roll of imaging film to create printed text and images. The print head in the fax applies heat to the imaging film to transf er ink to the paper . F ollow the steps below to load or replace the film.
Loading the Imag ing Film 25 1. Installation 4 Remove the ne w roll of ima ging film from its pac kaging. • Cut the band that holds the rolls together . 5 Insert the green gears. 6 Insert the film into the print compartment. 7 Rotate the front g ear as shown until the film is taut.
