AvMap - 5 I. War ning The manufacturer and the distribution chain disclaim any liability deriving from an improper use of the device in a way that may cause accidents or damages to things or persons. Using this navigator implies that the user accepts and follows all these warnings and all the instructions contained on this manual.
6 - AvMap Highway Code. Satellite navigators should be considered merely as aids. The driver is held responsible for safe driving and the choice of the best route to take. • Do not consult the navigator whilst driving if this represents a danger for you and other people.

AvMap - 9 II.II Smart Magnetic Mount 1. Fix the car mount on the windscreen with the suction cup in a position that does not represent a danger in case of accident or sharp braking, and that does not distract the driver . 2. Plug the power supply cable in the holder and in the cigarette lighter .
10 - AvMap 1. Getting star ted 1.1 Installation A vMap Geosat 6 is ready to be used. All you need to do is install the unit into the vehicle. Fix the car mount on the windscreen with the suction cup in a position that does not represent a danger in case of accident or sharp braking, then place the Geosat 6 on the magnetic mount.

12 - AvMap 2. T he Naviga tion Menu After the warnings in the starting page have been accepted, the navigation menu is displayed. It can be opened in any moment touching the Menu button in the map. The Navigation Menu consists of a xed menu which can be scrolled with the green arrows, and a xed part with buttons that are always accessible.

16 - AvMap 2.4 Help Mode The Help mode helps you getting instructions on how to use the buttons in the navigation software. T ouch the Help button (the button with the question mark icon) to enter in the help mode then press any button to get the relative explanation.

18 - AvMap 3. T he Map 3.1 Explore the map T o open the map, touch the Map button in the Navigation Menu. When there is no active navigation, the map appears as follows: Status icons: GPS signal and B.
AvMap - 19 Y ou can explore the map with or without a valid GPS signal. T o explore the map, touch it in any point, and the cursor will appear , then drag it in the desired direction. T ouch the Zoom buttons to zoom in or out. The info bar (the blue bar at the bottom of the screen) shows the exact address corresponding to the cursor position.
20 - AvMap 3.2 Record your tr ack on the map With Geosat 6 you can record on the map the track of your trip. This function is very useful when you are navigating off-road. The track is shown on the map with a red line. The track can be saved and it be reloaded in any moment.

24 - AvMap open the Start Navigation page (par . 4.6) • T ouch the button with the checked ag to set as destination and calculate. The software will calculate the route from the current GPS position to the selected destination and the map will open.

T he map during the naviga tion The map provides important information during the navigation: Next manoeuvre Distance to next manoeuvre Street name where you are about to turn into Name of the street you are travelling along Navigation data: touch to choose the data you wish to display .
30 - AvMap 5.1 Changing the nav igation data If the navigation is active three elds are displayed by default on the left side of the screen (horizontal mode) or in the lower side (vertical mode): speed, time to destination and distance to destination.

34 - AvMap 6. Planning and modifying a r oute 6.1 Planning a route from A to B If you are in the car and you are receiving a valid GPS signal, the point of departure corresponds to your GPS position.
AvMap - 35 In absence of GPS signal the navigation will not start but the route will be displayed with a green line. Y ou can either consult or modify the itinerary (par .7). 6.2 Route F unctions Menu T o modify a route, enter the R oute Functions menu, by selecting it from the Navigation Menu.

AvMap - 37 6.6 Simulating mode Once you plan your route, you can always start a simulation of navigation that will display the moving vehicle along the itinerary with the average speed assigned to each road by T ele Atlas, or you can see it speeded up x2,x4,x8 times.

42 - AvMap Select Set Speed in order to set the speed according to your average speed. 7.5 Planning next stop This function allows planning the stops along your route.

48 - AvMap 9. Managing Points of Inter est 9.1 POI types The cartography of the car navigator already includes a vast database of P oints of interest also called System POI (to consult the category and subcategory list, see the appendix). On top of these System POIs, you can add new ones.

AvMap - 53 10. Managing Ad dr ess book 10.1 Address book Geosat 6 can store up to 1.000 personal contacts in the address book. The contacts will be saved in a predened folder , or in a folder chosen by you. T o access the address Book: • Open the Navigation Menu • P ress Contact Management 10.
54 - AvMap • Change the icon that will represent the le. • Set an approaching alarm on the contacts of the le. • Delete the le you created. After nishing the modications, select Accept and go back to the folders list, where the new folder will be displayed.

By pressing the green arrow button you will access to the Start Navigation page (see Start Navigation page par 4.

Insert a metal pointed object on the reset hole that is on lower right side of the device. The device will switch off and then you will be able to turn it on again.
