14 US Getting Started Step 2 : Conne cting t he System For conn ecti ng the s ystem , read th e infor mati on on the f ollow ing page s. Do not connec t the AC power c ord (main s lead) of t he unit to a wall ou tlet (mai ns) until all the o ther connec tions a re made .

16 US Getting Started A HDMI cable connection If your TV has an HDMI jack, connect to the TV with an HDMI c able. This will provid e better image qual ity c ompa red to ot her t ypes of c onnec tio ns. When connec ting w ith an HD MI c able, yo u need to select the type o f output signal when pe rform ing the E asy Setu p (pag e 22).

18 US Getting Started When the component does not have an HDMI OUT jack Conn ect the s ystem so that video signal s from the syst em a nd other compon ent ar e sent t o the T V, and audio s ignals from t he comp onent are sent to the sy stem as follo ws.
19 US Getting Started • Be sure to fully ext end the FM wire an tenna (aeria l). • A fter con necting the F M wire antenn a (aerial), kee p it as horizon tal as possi ble. • I f you have poor FM r eception, use a 75-ohm coaxi al cable (not sup plied) to conne ct the unit to an outdoor FM antenna ( aerial) .
20 US Getting Started Step 3: Connecting t o the Networ k • To connect the system to your network, you ne ed to make netwo rk settings tha t suit your usage environme nt and components. For detail s, see “Setting up the Network” (page 43) and “[Network Settin gs]” (page 51) .
