Operat ion Bef ore Printi ng 9 Operation Bef o re Printing This secti on describes the operations that must be performed prior to starting p rinting. This e xplanati on assumes that the printer has already been installed and that all c onnection s ha ve been made.
Operat ion Bef ore P rintin g 10 4 Load th e ink ribbo n to ink ri bbon hold er . 5 Remove any sl ack from the ink r ibbo n. If the ribbon is left slack , it may be cru mpled and dama ged w hen inse rted . 6 Insert the ink ribbon cassette f irmly unt il it stops.
Operat ion Bef ore Printi ng 11 Be sure to set the spacer a ccording to the size of the paper bef ore placing the paper in the pap er tray . Notes The number of the paper is the same as the number of the paper that one roll o f the ink ribbon can af ford.
Operat ion Printing 12 Printing Before printing • Ensure that the printer is properly con nected (page 8). • Ensur e that the co mbination of the ink r ibbon and paper is correct (pages 9 and 10). • Ensure t hat the ink ribbon cassette an d paper are properly loaded (page 19).

Operat ion Adjusting Print outs 15 1 Display “PRINT P A TCH” by pressing the F or f butt on in menu mode. 2 Press the EXE C button. 25 identical i mages of the image last printed are printed on a sheet of p aper as a patch p rint. Each image has a di ff erent color balance, b ut they hav e the same gray .

Miscel laneous Precau tions 17 Miscella neous Precauti ons Saf ety • Operate the printer using the po wer source specif ied in “Specif ications” (page 20). • Be careful no t to damage the po wer cable by placi ng or droppi ng heavy objects on it; it is dan gerous to use the unit with a da maged po wer cable.
Miscel laneous Precaut ions 18 T o clean the f ilter , proceed as follo ws. 1 Remov e the fan co ve r , then f ilter . 2 Clean the f ilter usin g the v acuum cleaner and t he like. Notes • Be careful that the filter will be caught in the cleaner . • Do not rub the net of t he fi lter strong ly .
