Your XOHM Mode m 3 Your XOHM Modem Get to Know Your Device Your XOHM Modem lets you connect to the X OHM WiMAX network to provide fast and easy wireless connecti vity to the Internet in your home or office.
4 Your XOHM Modem Device Connectors (back of device) 1. Power jack (black): Connects the power adapter to power the modem. 2. Reset button (red): R esets the unit back to factory defaults (use ONLY as a last resort).
Your XOHM Mode m 5 Your XOHM Modem Modem LED Display (front panel) 1. WiMAX LEDs: The leftmost L ED indicates WiMAX conne ctivity. A blinking LED indicates that the un it is ranging, while a solid LED indi cates that a connection has been established and that the modem is re ady to transmit and receive.
6 Your XOHM Modem 4. Power LED: In dicates if the unit h as power and is operatin g correctly. A blinking LED indicates the unit is l oading the firmware and configuration, while a solid L ED indicates the unit is ready for operation. This LED will be green.

8 Insta ll Your XOHM M odem Using the XOHM Modem Setup Assistant Section 1B Install Your XOHM Modem Using the XOHM Modem Setup Assistant This section outli nes the basic steps to inst all your modem using the XOHM Modem Setup Assistant included on the XOHM Modem Setup Assistant CD that came with your modem.
Install Your XOHM Modem Using the XOHM Modem Setup Assistant 9 Installation: Modem Setup Assistant 2. From the XOHM Mode m Setup Assistant Welcome screen, click Next . 3. Follow the onscree n instructions to complete the in stallation wizard. 䡲 Accept the terms of the XOHM License Agreement.
10 Install Your XOHM Modem Using the XOHM Modem Setup Assistant Install Your XOHM Modem 1. If it did not launch autom atically, la unch the XOHM Modem Setup Assistant by clicking Start > (All) Progra ms > XOHM > XOHM Modem Setup As sistant . The Welcome screen appears.

It may take a few moments for the sign al to find your modem. 䡲 If the setup assistant dis plays any gree n circles ( , , or ), you’re in fine shape.
12 Install Your XOHM Modem Using the XOHM Modem Setup Assistant 4. Click Activate My Modem to connect to the XOHM activation site. Your Web browser will launch and you will see an Activation i n Progress screen.

14 Install Your XOHM Modem Using the XOHM Modem Setup Assistant Set Up a Router (optional) If you want to set up a wireless router, the XOHM Modem Setup Assistant will take you through a basic router setup and connecti on test. For advan ced ro uter configuration, consult your router ’s docu mentation.

Advanced Menu 33 Advanced Menu Port Forwarding The Port Forwarding me nu lets you forward outside ports to inside devices so that users from the Internet c an use shared resources such as Web servers, remote workstations, gami ng platforms, etc.
34 Advanced Menu There are 11 conf igurable rules and one “De f ault Rule.” When the modem receives an unsolicited pa cket from the Internet, it will fi rst look at rules 1-11 to see if the traffic’s port matches a rule. If not, th e modem will see if a Default Server is prese nt, and if so, pass the packet to the Default Server.
Advanced Menu 35 Advanced Menu Trigger Port The Tr igger Port allows you to configure up to 12 “trigger” ports that can open and close as necessary, i nstead of be ing always open.

Troubleshooting 41 Troubleshooting Issues My XOHM Modem is not wo rking (lights are not coming on). What do I do? 䢇 Make sure the modem ’s power adapter is plugged into an active power outlet. 䢇 If you are using a power s trip or surge protector, make sure its switch is in the “ON” position.
42 Troubleshooting My XOHM Modem is not working properly (lights are coming on but I cann ot connect). What do I do? 䢇 Your modem may no t be receiving the proper voltage. Make sure you are using the power adapter that came with your modem. The correct adapter for the MAX-206M2 pr ovides output power of 12V AC at 1 Amp.
Troubleshooting 43 Troubleshooting The lights on my XOHM Modem are on, but they are blinking. What do I do? Blinking lights indi cate that the modem is in a proces s. It may be powe ring up, searching f or a WiMAX connec tion, or co nnec ting to an attached computer.

If your computer is connected via an Ethernet c ord, ensure the cord is securel y attached both to the ro uter and yo ur comput er. 2. If your computer is connecting via Wi-F i, en sure you have the co rrect Wi-Fi settings entered.
