1. Sa fe ty in struc tions » These safety in struc tions ap ply to all per sons within the range of ac tion of the equip ment. Please in form all per sons within the range of ac tion of the equip - ment of the di rect and in di rect haz ards con nected with the equip ment.
1.1. War nings and sym bols The fol low ing warn ings and sym bols are used in these op er at ing in struc tions: » This sym bol in di cates dan ger to life! Fa tal or se ri ous in jury is pos si ble if the cor re spond ing in struc tions, reg u la tions or warn - ings are not ob served.
1.2. Ex pla na tions and in for ma ti on Var i ous terms and des ig na tions are used fre quently in these op er at ing in struc - tions to en sure clar ity. There fore please not e that the terms used in the text stand for the cor re spond ing ex pla na tions listed be low.
1.3. For your sa fe ty · It is ab so lutely nec es sary that you ob serve the op er at ing in struc tions for the cor - re spond ing con vey ing sys tem . · The de vice is in tended ex clu sively for con vey ing plas tic gran ules and regrind. Any other us age is not per mit ted.
2. In stal la ti on in stru c tions » These in stal la tion in struc tions are in tended for per sons with skills in elec tri cal and me chan i cal ar eas due to their train ing, ex - pe ri ence and re ceived in struc t ions.
2.1. Trans port For trans port, only the ap pro pri ate lift ing gear should be used (e. g. fork lift or work shop crane). » Ob serve the car ry ing ca pac ity of the lift ing gear. Ob serve the safety in struc tions for the han dling of lift ing gear.
Please check that all con nect ing points are tight to en sure that the con vey ing performance is not im paired. It should more over be ob served , par tic u larly if cus tom pro duced con nect ing p.
2.3. Com pres sed-air supp ly (only w ith com pres sed-air val ves) For op er at ing the con trol valves, a com pressed-air sup ply is nec es - sary. Check com pressed-air pip ing for cor rect in stal la tion and as sem bly. Check fit tings, length and qual ity of the hose con nec tions for agree - ment with re quire ments.
2.4. Elec tri cal con nec ti on » The elec tri cal con nec tion may only be car ried out by trained per - son nel. Other per sons are not per mit ted to carry out t he elec tri cal con - nec tion. The rules of the lo cal elec tric ity board m ust be ob served.

3. Functio nal des crip t i on The con veyor hop per is used for the au to matic con vey ance of fr eely flow ing plas - tic gran ules. The hop per can only func tion in con nec tion with a vac uum con veyor plant. The hop per works with out a fil ter.
4. Main ten an ce » This chap ter is in tended for per sons with skills in elec tri cal and me chan i cal ar eas due to their train ing, ex pe ri ence and re ceived in struc tions.
L Dis con nect the equip ment from mains sup ply be fore st art ing main te nance pro ce dures to en sure that it can not be switched on un in ten tion ally. Depressurize all com pressed air pip ing of the equip ment be - fore start ing main te nance work.
4.1. Main ten an ce in ter vals Dai ly: check war ning signs on equip ment for good le gi bi li ty and com ple te ness. with com pres s ed-air val ve: check the oil le vel in the oi ler emp ty the wa ter se pa ra tor check the ope ra ting pres su re in the fac to ry duct work sys tem (max.
4.2. Ser vi cing the hop per loa der & In di vid ual hop pers can also be main tained dur ing op er a tion. How ever, Ster ling rec om mends that you switch off the con - vey ing plant for all ty pes of work on the hop per. Switch off the hop per by means of the on/off switch ( A) on the con nec tion hous - ing.
De pres su rise the com pressed-air line to the hop per (only with com pressed-air valve). Dis as sem ble the ma te rial line on the lat eral in let of the hop per. Re move the con nect ing plug (B) “con veyor con trol” on the con nec tion hous ing of the hop per.
4.2.1. Re pla cing the non re turn val ve sea ling ring Open the ten sion ring (A). Re move the hop per lid. Draw the old seal ing ring off t he noz zle (B). In stall the new seal ing ring. Ob - serve the di rec tion of in stal la tion (C). Mount the hop per lid.
4.2.2. Re pla cing the out let flap sea ling Re move the con nect ing plug “flap switch” (A) fr om the con nec tion hous ing of the hop per. Re move the t en sion ring (B) and the seal ing ring on the hop per loader. Re move the up per part of the hop per loader (C) from the lower part of the hop per loader (D).
In stall the up per part of the hop per loader (C) on the lower part of the hop per loader (D). In stall the seal ing ring and the ten sion ring (B) on the hop per loader. Con nect the con nect ing plug “flap switch” (A) to t he con nec tion hous ing of the hop per.
4.2.3. Ad just t he flap switch Re move the con nect ing plug “flap switch” from the con nec tion hous ing of the hop per. Con nect an ohm me ter t o PINS 2 and 3 of the con nect ing plug “flap switch”. Re lease the nuts ( A) of the flap switch (B) un til the sup port can be dis placed.
4.2.4. Clea ning the hop per loa der Open the ten sion ring (A). Re move the hop per loader lid. Check the sieve (B) within the hop - per for ma te rial res i due. For clean - ing, dis as sem ble the hop per: turn the hop per approx. 1/2 ro ta tion coun ter clock wise.
