IMPORTA NT Save all pack aging in a dry place away from fire hazards. Your Intrepid is a precision electronic instrument and should be properly pack aged any time shipm ent is m ade.
ii The lightning flash with arr owhead symbol , within an equil ateral triang le, is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated “danger ous voltage” within the product’ s enclosure that may be of significant mag nitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to per sons.

Please tak e a m oment to f ill out all pertinent data now, and as upgrades and/or options are installed. Whene ver upgrades, inquiri es and/or changes are requested, the serial number will be required.

1 INTRODUCTIO N Getting to know y our Intrepid This Intrepid has been put through a rigorous and unique testing procedur e that ensures that it will last for many y ears with m inimal s ervice requirem ents.
2 IMPORTA NT NOTICE I. It is im perative that the Intrepid be connec ted to a ground via its three wire AC power cord. It is impor tant that the AC power outlet, which the Intrepid is plugged into, is ac tually grounded. Failure to do so will severely compr omise the per form ance, reliability and safety of use of the Intr epid.

4 Front Panel Lay out Figure 2 - Front Panel Lay out 1. STANDBY button. After the rear panel MA IN P OWE R switch is turned on press the f ront panel ST A NDBY button to exit the standby mode. All channels will come out of standby. 2. STANDBY LED. Illuminates r ed when the power amplifier is in STANDBY , green when the amplif ier is active.

6 OPERA TION Before tur ning on the Intrepid, ensure that all prec autions and warnings have been carefully reviewed and adhered to. Damage to the Intr epid caused by improper operation, wiring and/or ventilation will not be covered under warr anty and Theta will not be liable f or any cons equential damage or loss.
7 A ppendix A Troubleshooting Guide If the Intrepid s hould function abnorm ally during operation, please review the item s in the following check list. Please be sure to thoroughly chec k all other c onnected com ponents suc h as speak ers, pream plifier s, as well as cables.
8 A ppendix B Wiring Diagram This section provides an exam ple illust ration of an input and output wiring schem e. Befor e mak ing any connections, please tur n off ALL audio and video devices.

12 Figure 6 – Intrepid RS232 Jumper Settings RS232 Jumper Settin gs There ar e 2 possible Baud rates: 9600 and 19200 . The fac tory default is 19200 . To change the baud r ate to 9600 , move the j umper to the center and top pins (if the RS232 board is orientated as in figure 6).
