Using the Monitor Setting the Timing Mode Setting the timing mode is important for maximizing the quality of the screen image and minimizing e ye strain. The timing mode consists of the re s o l u t i o n (example 1280 x 1024) and r efr esh rate (or v ertical frequenc y; e xample 75 Hz).
Adjusting the Screen Ima g e Use the b uttons on the front control panel to display and adjust the OnV iew ® controls which display on the screen. The OnV iew controls are e xplained at the top of the next page and are def ined in “Main Menu Controls” on page 8.
Do the f ollo wing to adjust the screen image: 1 T o display the Main Menu, press b utton [1]. 2 T o select a control you want to adjust, press the arro w b uttons on the front control panel of your monitor and scroll through the choices. When the control you want is highlighted, press b utton [2].
Main Men u Contr ols Adjust the menu items sho wn belo w by using the up and do wn b uttons. Contr ol Explanation Contrast adjusts the dif ference between the image background (black le v el) and the fore ground (white le v el). Brightness adjusts the background black le v el of the screen image.
Contr ol Explanation Tilt rotates the entire screen image. Degauss remo v es the b uild-up of magnetic f ields that can cause irre gular colors to appear around the edges of screen images. There are two w ays to de gauss the display: automatically b y turning the monitor on, or manually by selecting the De gauss control from the menu.
Contr ol Explanation Language allo ws you to choose from among se veral languages for the menus and control screens: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, T raditional Chinese, Simplif ied Chinese, and Japanese. OSD P osition allo ws you to mo v e the on-screen display menus and control screens.

T r oubleshooting No po wer • Make sure po wer button (or switch) is ON. • Make sure A/C po wer cord is securely connected to the back of the monitor and to a po wer outlet. • Plug another electrical de vice (like a radio) into the po wer outlet to verify that the outlet is supplying proper v oltage.
