4 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. T ransmitter Channels Channel I The arm/disar m and panic functions, are usually controlled by Button I. Channel II The Silent Mode ™ /trunk release function, is usually controlled by Button II. Silent Mode ™ and Remote V alet ® work by pressing Button II f or less than one second.
5 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. Using Y our S ystem Arming Y ou can tur n on, or arm , the system b y pressing Button I of your transmitter f or one second. When the system ar ms, you will hear a short siren sound, or chirp, and see the parking lights flash once.
6 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. Arming While Driving Y our system can be ar med while driving the vehicle! Simply press Button I on your tr ansmitter while the vehicle is running. The system will chir p once and then once more to indicate that the ignition is on.
7 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. T ur n on the ignition. Push the V alet s witch within 15 seconds. The system should now disarm. If it does not, you ma y ha ve w aited too long, so tur n the igni- tion off and on and tr y again. Silent Mode TM T o temporar ily turn off the ar m or disar m chirps, use Silent ModeTM.

9 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. Once the system has successfully star ted the motor , it will turn the climate controls on. If cooling or heating of the vehicle is desired, you m ust preset the controls to the desired temperature and turn the blow er motor on.
10 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. Timer Mode The system has a built-in timer that will start the vehicle's engine and run it f or the programmed time , ev ery three hours for a total of six operations . T o enter timer mode: 1. Star t the v ehicle with the ke y .

This feature is useful f or those times when you will be out of the vehicle f or shor t per iods of time and would lik e to leav e the motor running and the climate controls on.

13 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. Diagnostics The microprocessor at the hear t of your system is constantly monitoring all of the s witches and sensors connected to it. It detects an y faulty s witches and sensors and pre vents them from disab ling the entire system.
14 © 1997 Directed Electronics, Inc. Table of Zones The zone number is the number of LED flashes used b y the system to iden- tify that input. The standard input assignments are listed below , along with spaces to write in any optional sensors or s witches you ha ve had installed.
