5 Setup Please ref er to the illustrations in the section entitled “The Guitarist’s Guided P anel T our” (page 6). 1. T ur n the MASTER v olume on the amp all the wa y down.
6 The Guitarist’ s Guided Panel T our In this chapter we’ re going to take a look at the top and rear panels of your amp . A. T op Panel 1 2 3 4 1. INPUT Section This is where y ou plug in your guitar . 2. Power switch When the power is on, the indicator located abov e the s witch will be lit.
7 EDIT 1 Use this to adjust the parameters of each eff ect. By using this knob in conjunction with the T AP and BY - P ASS buttons as described below , you can adjust three different par ameters.
8 HINT : Y ou can also further adjust the speed or time, by holding down the T AP button and turning the EDIT 1 knob. (This is the EDIT 2 mode) NO TE: If the BYP ASS LED is lit, you won’t be able to use the T AP switch to set the time. (The T AP LED will be dark.
9 3. AUX IN jack Connect an e xter nal audio de vice to this jack. This enab les you to conv eniently connect a CD or MP3 pla yer and pla y your guitar along with the pla yer’ s output. NO TE: Adjust the playback volume on the connected player . 4. MIC INPUT jack Connect a microphone to this jack.
10 Creating Y our Own Program and Adjusting the Noise Reduction This section e xplains how to create your own prog ram, in- cluding how to adjust eff ect parameters and the noise re- duction setting.
11 DELA Y TIME: Press the T AP button twice at the de- sired inter val, or hold down the T AP button and turn EDIT 1. DELA Y LEVEL: T urn EDIT 1 (without pressing any button). DELA Y FEEDBACK: T urn EDIT 1 while holding down the BYP ASS button. HINT : For details on the effects, refer to “Styles and effects” (page 12).
12 Styles and ef fects In this section we’ re going to talk about the ele ven styles and eff ects. STYLES Y ou kno w that there is a plethora of great sounding amps out there, and that the quest f or the ultimate sound can be end- less.
13 CRUNCH 1 This organic sounding style is dynamically rich and war m, yet biting and distinct! Rolling back y our guitar’ s volume results in a unique and highly usab le clean sound. CRUNCH 2 This style has a f at, roar ing sound with a distinctiv e, cranium-crushing crunch.
14 Ef fects The D A5 provides ele ven of the most popular eff ects (some eff ects actually combine two effects). Y ou can adjust the SPEED parameter of modulation eff ects or the TIME param- eter of dela y/rev erb effects simply b y pressing the T AP s witch twice .
15 AUTO W AH This models an auto-wah; a device that creates an automatic “wah” effect that v ar ies with y our picking dynamics (i.e., how hard or soft y ou hit the strings). EDIT 1 “SENS” Adjusts the sensitivity of the effect in response to the volume of your guitar .
16 TREMOLO This eff ect is based on the highly acclaimed tremolo circuit found in some guitar amps . TA P “SPEED” Sets the tremolo speed in a range of 2.5...10 [Hz]. EDIT 2 “SPEED” This lets you use the knob to make fine adjustments to the parameter .
