3 CUTTING SAFETY W ARNING: Inspec t t he area bef ore each u se. Remo ve objects (rocks, broken glass, nails , wire, et c.) which can be t hrown by or become ent angled in line. Hard objects can damage the trimm er head and be thrown causing serious injury.

5 T o av oid engine problems , em pty the fuel sys- tem before storage for 30 days or longer. Drain the gas tank , s tart the engi ne and let it run until t he fuel lines and c arburetor are empty. Us e fresh fuel next s eason. Never use engine or carburet or cleaner prod- ucts i n the f uel tank or permanent damage may occur.
6 Do not run the engine at a higher speed t han necessary . The cutti ng line will cut efficiently when the engine is run at less than full throttle. At lower speeds, there is l ess engine noise and vibration. The cutt ing line will last longer and w i ll be less likely to “weld” onto the spool.
7 Sweeping EDGING - - A djust tri mmer t o the edging posi- tion (s ee TWIS T A ND EDGE sec tion). Allow only the t ip of the line to make contac t. Do not force trimm er line into work area. S Replacement spools are color - - coded to ensure use of the correct s pool with y our unit. Be sure to use the same color spool as the exis ting spool .
