(5) CONNECT TO YOUR COMPUTER e PK-6000 connects to your computer with the included MiniUSB-to-USB cable. Because it adheres to computer industr y standar ds f or a “USB mass storage device,” the PK-6000 connects to both Macintosh computers (OS X 10.
(6) PRODUCT OVERVIEW Y our New PK-6000 e PK-6000 is a powerful multimedia device that can be used for enter tainment, performing, reading, recording and making presentations.
(7) Safe Operations • Adjust the volume pr oper ly to avoid damage to your hearing. • Only use appropriate batteries, chargers and accessories. Using improper products will void the warranty and may be dangerous. • Please f ollow local environmental pr otection regulations to dispose of the used device and accessories.
(8) Y ou can copy the sample A VI and MP3+G les on the inc luded CD to y our P K-6000 by connecting the unit to y our computer with the inc luded USB cable. Y ou can place the les in any location on the PK-6000, as the system looks for les automatical ly ever y time you turn it on.
(9) Common Connection Scheme (Figure B) : For karaoke use , enable FM transmission so that mixed sound from mic and music will br oadc ast over radio as shown. Connect ear phones to mo nitor yourself , connect mic for singing and use USB-to-Composite- V ideo cable to connect to T V .
(10) Batter y Indication Always refer to the batter y charge icon before use to view the charge level, and ensure that the PK-6000 is full y charged before ea c h use.
(1 1) USING THE PK-6000: GENERAL First Use of the PK-6000 e rst time you use this device, ensure that you have installed fully charged batter ies. Hold down the power button for several seconds to start the device. T o c alibrate the St ylus for continued use, enter “Menu Settings” and select “Screen Calibration.
(12) Unlocking the Screen In Figures 01 and 02 , note the lock icon at the upper r ight of the screens (unlocked in 01, locked in 02). Clic k and hold for 2 to 3 seconds to toggle between the settings. In Karaoke and Video modes, automatic loc king is disabled (y ou c an do it manually).

(14) NES TED FUNCTIONS AND GLOBAL CONTROLS Controls for FM T ransmission, Microphone settings, Echo delay and other functions are located on the right-hand S hortcut Options Menu (see page 27), whic h is only displayed when you are in a mode that can make use of these functions.
(15) SETTINGS MODE e Settings icon is the four th and nal icon in the right-hand row of the Main Interface. W e will take the others in order , but wil l start with Settings because you should make as many settings as possible before using the PK-6000.
(16) LIS TENING TO MUSIC e second icon in the rst (left) row is for Music (see Figure 03 , page 13). Click on it to enter Music mode. e larg e center icon will become the Music icon, and clic king on this will bring up the Play list and contr ols.
(1 7) PLA YING MOVIES e third icon on the left row is for Movies mode. Clic king on it will change the central screen icon to match, and clic king that will enter the Movie mode. W hen you do so , the PK-6000 will sc an the system for the presence of A VI les and make a Play list, and begin playing the rst le it loc ates.
(18) IMAGE BRO W SER e bottom icon in the left row of the Main Interface is the Image Browser . Click on the icon and, as with other functions, the center screen icon changes to match. Click on this and you will enter the browsing mode , which allows you to view image les in JPG, JPEG, GI F and BMP formats.
(19) FM RADIO: LIS TENING AND RECORDING Clicking on the rst icon in the Main Interface’ s right row will enter the FM Radio mode. e currently tuned station will be displayed top center , and you can move through the FM band with the |<< and >>| contr ols (one c lick at a time or hold down to move more quickly).
(20) AUDIO RECORDING e second icon in the right-hand list of the Main Interface is for Audio Recording. Click on the icon and the center screen icon will change to match, then clic k on that to enter A udio Recording mode.

(22) OTHER FUNCTIONS AND SETTINGS Pr of essional Line-In Recording Y ou can use your PK-6000 as a por table digital line-in recor der and get professional results. e USB-to-Co mposite- V ideo cable has a standard 1/8-inch mini-jack on the same end as the mini-USB connector that connects to the PK-6000.
(23) KARAOKE FUNCTIONS Karaoke Song Selection System Click on the Karaoke function icon in the Main Interface of the machine to enter this mode. (24) Karaoke Song Lists In the Karaoke Song S election Interface, see song lists by clic king on “ Audio ,” “ V ideo ” or “ MIDI” icons (see Figure 03 , previous page). Clic k on “S earch ” ( Figure 5 ) and use keyboard input to enter a song number , or initials of the song title words, to locate it.
(25) Karaoke Audio Songs Play Song background pictures, stored as JPG and BMP formats in each song le, will be switched automaticall y , depending on the size and resolution of the images. Mixing voice while recording acco mpaniment is exc lusively available for songs in the Music menu and Music Librar y .

(29) Karaoke Enable/Disable Click on “Switch ” to enable the Karaoke mode ( Figure 12 ). Background Music Adjustment Click “ V olume” to adjust the volume of the song to your preference ( Figure 13 ).
(30) Microphone Volume Click on “Mic V ol” to set the le vel of microphone v olume according to your prefer ence ( F igure 14 ). e background sound volume should remain unchanged). Delay Effects Setting Click on “Delay” to select the optional Echo settings ( Figure 15 ).
(3 1) MPX Selection Click on “MPX” to select Karaoke “Right ” or “ Lef t ” and clic k on “Monitor ” to listen to singer on earphones ( Figure 16 ). If FM transmission functions are enabled, you will hear the instrumental music plus your voice on the r eceiver (or radio).
(32) FM T ransmission Enable/Disable and FM ID Click “FM T X” to show this interface and turn FM transmission on/o ( Figure 17 ). “FM ID” can be enabled/disabled when FM tr ansmission is on.
(33) FM T ransmission Band Click on “Band” (or “F req” in the latest P K-6000 versio n) f or transmission band adjustment. Note : Without headsets, the P K-6000 will still emit FM station signals but signal strength will be weak. P lug in the earphones and they will act as an antenna to maximize the transmission strength.
(34) FM T ransmission Band Selection Click “|<<” and “>>|” to select the band accurately or directly c lick on the band scale slider to move through the band range ( Figure 19 ).
(35) FM Inter ference T est After you select the emission band, the system will per form an automatic interference test ( Figure 20 ). Note : If your selection is less than optimum, the PK-6000 will aler t y ou to interference so that you can change the band for best results.
(36) Score After you enable “Score” the P K-6000 will score for you automatically when you nish a song ( Figure 21 ). Record V oice mixed with background instrumental will be recorded in the W A V for mat ( Figure 22 ). Make sure the microphone is turned on.
(37) T V Output Enable/Disable Click on “TV ” to enable/disable the connection between the PK-6000 and TV , monitor or other output de vice ( Figure 23 ). Song Selection Click on “Select ” to choose new music from the m usic libr ary and add it to the Play list ( Figure 24 ).
(38) EQ Setting Click on “EQ” to choose various eect settings ( Figur e 25 ). A new hierarchical menu wil l appear to the right of the EQ menu with such presets as “Jazz ” and “P op.” Playing Modes Click on “Mode” to c hoose various settings for playing music ( Figure 26 ).
(39) FA Q (Frequently Asked Questions) 1. Why am I not able to record sounds while playing video les in MIDI and A VI formats in the Karaoke menu? Files in MIDI and AVI f ormat occup y more resour ces even when sound recording is disabled.
