8 V ent Restric tion The GF 400 D V Sebago is equipped with R estrictor Plates which enable you to regula te the flow of incoming combustion air and exhaust gas. The plates pr eve nt overly str ong dra ft that can cause poor combustion and weak flame picture.
9 V er tical V ent T ermination The Jøtul GF 400 D V Sebago can be vertically vented through a ceiling or to a roof termination with the f ollowing guidelines: The termination should fall within the shaded area s of the grids depicted in the V ent W indow diagrams on the pages 10-11.

12 C o-linear V ent Installation The GF 400 D V Sebago may be vented thr ough a ma- sonry or Class A pref abricated chimney using a C o-linear Flexible V en t system approved f or use with a solid-fuel burning fir eplace.
13 Masonry or Pref abricated Chimney Co nv ersion The GF 400 D V Sebago is approv ed for use with listed chimney con version kits from any of the manuf acturers listed on page 8. These kits are f or use in a masonry chimney or a pr efabricated solid fuel listed chimne y .
14 Horizontal T ermina tion Any horizontal termination must f all within the shaded portion of the ve nt window graph illustr ated in figs. 9 or 11. For Snork el T erminations , see below . Any horiz ontal termination ex cept a snorkel termination, must include: 1) Minimum rise of 2 ft.

17 Close Open Fuel C onv ersion Procedure R efer to fig. 47, Illustrated P arts Break down, to identify part numbers below . 1. T urn off gas supply to stove. 2. R emov e the stov e T op Pla te (41). 3. Disengage the two Glass Fr ame Latches at the top of the firebo x.
18 Gas Supply Connection Connect the gas supply line to the stov e, before installing the optional Blower . If the blower will be installed, use a 45° elbow of f the control v alv e to create clear ance required for the blower installation. The gas supply line connection is made to the left side of the valv e.
19 Gas Pressure Corr ect gas pressur e is essential for ef ficient and safe opera tion of the GF 400 DV Sebago gas sto ve. It is important that the corr ect pressur e is established at the time of the installation. Pr oper gas pressure provides a consistent flow of gas to the appliance and is instrumental in checking f or gas leaks.
20 Close Open Optional W all Thermostat or Remote C ontr ol Use only a 750 milliv olt DC two-wire circuit thermostat with this appliance. The thermostat should be placed in the same room as the heater , typically 5 feet off the floor . Av oid draf ty ar eas or any are a that may aff ect the accuracy of the thermostat .
21 Log Set Installation NO TE: If appropriate, install the optional Antique Brick Panel Kit befor e assembling the logset. The GF 400 D V Sebago logset must be installed before opera ting the burner . The logset includes fiv e log pieces, pack aged inside the firebox, and a quantity of ember stones pack aged in the Miscellaneous Parts bag .
22 S y stem Check 1. PURGING THE GAS LI NE: When lighting the appli- ance f or the first time, it will tak e a f ew moments to clear the gas line of air . Once this purge is complete, the appliance will opera te as described in the lighting instructions.
23 Oper ation F amiliarize y ourself with the controls of the GF 400 D V Sebago . Make sure that anyone else using the appliance is also familiar with the c ontrols and opera tion proce- dures.
24 Glass Care Clean the glass only when necessar y . W ipe the surface with a clean, dampened, soft cloth. Follow with a dry , soft towel. T ake care not to scra tch the glass sur face. WARNING: DO NO T USE ABRASIVE CLEANERS ON THE GLASS. NEVER CLEAN THE GLASS WHEN IT IS HOT .

26 Blower Oper ation The optional v ariable-speed blower will enhance heat circulation around the fir ebox and out into the room. The blower is controlled by a hea t ac tiv ated switch (snapstat) that will ON L Y function when the control switch is in A UT O setting.
27 1. Remov e the T op Plate. Simply lift if up of f of the stove body . It is not fastened. 2. Remov e the Glass Frame. Disengage the two compression latches located a t the top of the firebox and lif t the glass frame up and off of the stov e. See Fig.
